Hello! I wanted to post somewhat daily, so why not tell you guys about bedding? Idk. Today... well... in this post I'm going to be talking about the BAD hamster beddings! If you have questions comment down bellow and I'll do my best to answer :)

Bedding

Bedding plays an important role in a hamsters life! As wild animals, hamster were excellent digging and burrowing rodents. To this day, domestic Hamsters still held on to that trait. Hamsters use bedding to fill there nests with, it's an important part of a hamsters cage. To hamsters, bedding gives them "protection" and it makes them feel safer.

Bad Hamster Beddings!

Hamster Bedding is DEFINITELY important for hamsters! But sometimes, it's not always safe. A few hamster beddings are acually dangerous and/or can cause harm to your hamster

~pine or ceder wood shavings-- Pine and cedar wood can be abrasive and can splinter into sharp pieces, which can cause your hamster to have cuts and/or get an infection. These woods can also react to your hamster’s urine and give off toxic fumes that harm your hamster’s breathing

~Cotton or Fluffy Bedding--fluffy bedding is made artificial fibers that are difficult for hamsters to digest if they try to eat them. Also, hamsters have small, fragile legs, which can get injured when they become tangled in fluffy bedding.

~cat litter – If your hamster eats this bedding they could struggle to digest it!

~corn cob  – not good for hamsters to eat and may get mouldy...

~newspaper – inks used to print the page can be toxic!

~scented bedding – contains chemicals that may be harmful to your hamster!
