WOW, this kid out of Stanford is a real hotshot! Playing baseball and football is quite the feat, but using those options as leverage is pretty damn crummy. Those Colts really needed a quarterback after ol’ Johnny left, and this guy could’ve been the man. Oh well, at least James is gonna have a future here with the ol’ Broncos. Or is it John? Beats me, but ever since I saw that program on the television set about how the guy is the future of Denver, I have high expectations for him. Rightfully so with how much money they’re paying the guy.
It sucks to have someone that bucked the system on your team, but if he’s good and helps us, it can’t be too big of a deal. Hell, if he does what all those damn newscasters say he’ll do, I might be putting him in one of my works! Imagine that, the “Incredible Elway” next to Mr. Fantastic on the shelves, that’d be a kick. I hope he does get there, these damn Broncos need to win some games already. We haven’t had a good run at the trophy since Dallas whooped our ass a half a decade back.

Oh. My. God. This Elway kid is incredible! Ever since he got drafted a couple years back, he’s done nothing but great things for us. I that game against the Colts, in one of his first starts, when he made that incredible comeback, and he’s been making that sort of stuff his specialty ever since. That’s why I KNEW we had a shot even if we had a hundred to go with five minutes left. I’m starting to go to the games more often because of it—it’s just so much more exciting with John on the field. I mean, I flew into Cleveland from Colorado just to see us play, and damn it was worth it!
Now that he’s a few seasons in, that idea of putting him in one of my projects isn’t such a far-fetched idea. I already did some doodling on the way back, and I like how it’s turning out. Elway is practically Super Man, so to see him next to him in a comic wouldn’t even seem too out of place. Yesterday’s game could be a story by itself, so let me think, how would it go...

Issue #01
With only a few minutes left in the game, the INCREDIBLE ELWAY had the odds towering against him. He was in a foreign land, far away from Mile High Stadium in Denverville, and the menacing brown beasts snarled ahead of him. He had MILES to go before he could reach the end zone, but that didn’t stop the INCREDIBLE ELWAY.
Elway had seen been in this situation before. Countless times had he saved his team in the fourth quarter, but this time was different. This game was in THE PLAYOFFS, and the fate of the Broncos was on the line! Elway remained calm. With his courageous clutch and his rocket-powered arm, he SLICED through the brown beasts’ defense. After all, while they may have been powerful, they were no match for the INCREDIBLE ELWAY!
With a few more missile-like throws, the INCREDIBLE ELWAY found himself near the goal line. He’d come this far, and with one more dime, he could save the Broncos’ season! However, the brown beasts knew this could be their end, and they became stronger. They grew and grew until they were the size of fighter jets with the strength of a steam train.
This would be Elway’s toughest challenge yet. Could he overcome the brown beasts? Was he powerful enough to save the Broncos once again, or had he finally met his match? He dropped back, surveyed the field, charged back his bionic cannon, and...
TOUCHDOWN!
The INCREDIBLE ELWAY saved the Broncos once again! Although a formidable foe, Elway defeated the brown beasts and allowed his team to reign victorious. The pride of Denverville was able to live another day.
...I think that sounds fantastic. I’ll keep this in mind, and if ol’ Elway keeps this up, I might be able to pitch this idea to the editors. For now, though, I’ll be much more focused on riding the high from that game!

YES! YES! FINALLY! After so many second-place finishes, so much crap about how we “aren’t good enough”, and so much disappointment, we finally DID IT! We finally won the championship. That Elway finally got what he DESERVED! This is just incredible.
This is absolutely spectacular. Elway proved all those media asses wrong by winning, and we finally proved that we ARE a Super Bowl-winning franchise. All those people that doubted us can go screw themselves. Those editors can go screw themselves! Spitting that bull out about how Elway can’t be in the comics because he doesn’t win championships, that’s all bull now!
In fact, I could pitch it to them again. Now that Elway has won a Super Bowl, they’ll have no excuse not to give him the image he deserves. I could write another story right now! That’ll show em’, all I have to do is come up with a plot. Just a little something like...

Issue #02
As the INCREDIBLE ELWAY approached the lair of Cynical S.B., he surveyed his surroundings for any signs of the villain. He’d been here many times before, three to be exact, and each time he was either forced to retreat or couldn’t find any sign of the elusive foe.
However, this time was different. Before, the INCREDIBLE ELWAY had no help and was simply overpowered by Cynical S.B. and his goons. Now, though, Elway was surrounded by a team of courageous, vengeful heroes. With Terrific Terrell and Magnificent Mobley on either side of Elway, the trio stormed into S.B.’s lair for the final time.
As they entered, they were immediately met by Ferocious Favre and the rest of the Pungent Packers. These were just another team of S.B.’s goons, but they were still a worthy opponent.
For HOURS the two foes clashed, but thanks to the INCREDIBLE ELWAY’S rocket-powered arm and the team around him, they were BARELY able to scrape ahead of the Packers headed into the fourth stage of the battle. However, Ferocious Favre made a late comeback in the fight and ended up capturing Terrific Terrell and Magnificent Mobley. From here, it was all up to the INCREDIBLE ELWAY to save his team on the grandest stage.
This time, Elway knew what he had to do. He refused to let Cynical S.B. get the best of him yet again, and the INCREDIBLE ELWAY finally put his fears behind him. Although he wasn’t the young, energetic hero he once was, Elway still mustered the strength to DIVE at Ferocious Favre. That blow was enough to knock out the Pungent Packers, and he freed his team!
Once Elway had taken care of the Pungent Packers, the elusive Cynical S.B. appeared from the thick, pitch air. As Elway finally got a glimpse of the fabled villain, he noticed thirty-one skulls on his colossal belt—one forever team that fell to him. As the INCREDIBLE ELWAY and his team prepared for the greatest fight of their lives, Cynical S.B. quietly took the head of one of the Pungent Packers and placed it on his belt. Subsequently, he parted his iron lips and spoke:
”ELWAY. YOU HAVE PROVED TO ME THAT YOU ARE WORTHY BY DEFEATING THESE MEN. NO LONGER WILL I TORMENT YOU AND THE REST OF DENVERVILLE.”
After those words, Cynical S.B. vanished into the darkness of his lair. The INCREDIBLE ELWAY and his partners exclaimed in joy. They had finally conquered their last obstacle and permanently enshrined their legacy into legend. As they returned to Denverville, the city paraded in joy, as they would no longer be troubled by the wrath of Cynical S.B.
...That’s the perfect way to recap the greatness Elway solidified yesterday. Those damn editors are sure to love this. They won’t believe it when they hear such a great idea, just how I can’t believe that we actually won!

𝗠𝗔𝗬 𝟮, 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟵
I can’t put into words how heartbreaking this moment is. I get that Elway gave us everything we could’ve ever asked for, he gave his entire body to this team, and this was coming eventually, but that doesn’t soften the blow that it has. For the past decade and a half, I’ve watched this man do great things for us. Hell, he’s the main reason I fell so in love with this team. To know that I’ll never see him on the field again is truly saddening.
He never got the credit he deserved. He’s gotten so much praise, regarded by some as the greatest to ever do it, and that still doesn’t justify all that he did for us. It could’ve been enough, but those damn editors denied him of the image he was worthy of. I still can’t believe their excuse this time was, “He’s too close to the end of his career.” Bull. They just don’t love this team like I do, and to think they call themselves Bronco fans. Pathetic.
Still, it’s insanely tough to accept that I’ll never see Elway with the Broncos again. But, it’s a reality. One that I have to accept. All I can do now is truly thank, from the bottom of my heart, the Incredible Elway for the happiness he’s brought to me and everyone in Denver. Thanks for that final drive.

ELWAY IS BACK! The legend has returned, hopefully bringing some of that legendary status with him. Kids these days don’t understand how great John was, but they’re about to get a taste of it. I can’t believe Elway is getting the Broncos’ reigns now—I never would’ve thought I would see him with the team again. Yet, here he is, taking control of a similar situation as he was in his first time.
Now that he’s back, maybe I can start up a project about him again. I’m higher up now than I was back then, and the business is slowing down these days. So, maybe a spark like this could be great. I just have to brainstorm how Elway’s new journey would go...

Issue #03
With the Denverville Broncos now in shambles, a glimpse of the greatness that once was is all the fans can hold on to. The stories of the INCREDIBLE ELWAY are becoming more and more like urban legends, and if nothing changes, the legend of Elway could be the last success the Broncos ever see. Denverville is in need of a hero.
However, on one normal, gloomy day, a beam of light was cast over Denverville. The residents gazed upon the sky in wonder of what it could be. Suddenly, the light streaked across the clouds. Each and every fan of the Broncos peered out their window in hopes that this was some sort of good omen for the team.
What could it be? Was it a bird? Perhaps a plane? As the light suddenly rocketed toward the town, the blur became brighter and brighter. As the blinding object finally shot to the ground, it finally became examinable. A cloud of dust formed around the ‘thing’, and as it settled, the superhuman figure could finally be identified. The residents of Denverville shrieked in excitement and disbelief. The light was none other than the INCREDIBLE ELWAY!
With one bound and one dash, the city of Denverville grew vibrant once more. Finally, the Broncos could have hope again—hope that they’d be saved from the constant failure of the team. As the muttered crowd begged for Elway to save them, the INCREDIBLE ELWAY boomed over the city:
”FEAR NOT, CITIZENS. I PROMISE TO BRING BACK THE SUCCESS THE CITY OF DENVERVILLE DESERVES!”
At last, the INCREDIBLE ELWAY returned.
...That’s as accurate as I can make it. Hopefully, this’ll work out—for the comics and the Broncos. Either way, I’m just glad Elway’s back. We were in need of saving.

𝗙𝗘𝗕𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟲
WE’RE BACK BABY! I knew Elway could bring the greatness back! There’s no doubt he’s the greatest ever—he’s won Super Bowls as player and GM! He’s been great ever since he got here. He signed Peyton and drafted that Von—that’s why we won this game. Because Elway knows how to win. He’s absolutely great.
I hate that I still wasn’t able to give him the praise he deserves from me, but that’s not my fault. Comics just aren’t big these days. I’m lucky I’m retired, otherwise, I might just be out of a job. Still, I wish I could’ve given Elway that superhero story. Oh well, he’s a real-life superhero now, and everyone knows it.
I just wonder what he’ll do at quarterback now that Peyton is leaving. I’ll miss him, not as much as I missed Elway, but Peyton was still a great Bronco. Elway will find a way to work things out, especially at quarterback. That’s his specialty, and he knows how to win. He’s incredible at that.
__
𝗝𝗔𝗡𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟴
Damn it, Elway! Siemian, Lynch, Osweiler—it’s a damn carousel out here! Some bounce-back time was expected, but it’s been years and we haven’t even sniffed the playoffs! Make up your damn mind already, just put someone at quarterback and try to develop em’. I can’t be too mad at you though, outside of that eyesore we’re pretty damn good. At least our future is looking fine, and soon enough, we’ll be back competing for the trophy!
I’m pretty damn glad I gave up wasting my time on his comics, though. He doesn’t deserve any with that crap he’s been doing at quarterback. Maybe I’m being too tough. Elway is the greatest and a legend, and he’s brought more success to this team than anyone else in the history of the franchise. In a season or two, we’ll expand upon that.
__
𝗗𝗘𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟵
What the hell are we doing!? Elway is dooming us—he has been since Peyton left! He doesn’t know how to replace a damn quarterback, and the team is suffering because of it! He still can’t get over that obsession, and he decides to get Flacco too? He hasn’t been good since Ray Lewis was in the league! On top of that, we’re wasting draft picks on more QB’s. Although I will say, this Drew kid doesn’t look too bad so far.
Still, we could’ve been in contention ten times over with the rest of our team, but Elway’s crap at quarterback is holding us back. The damn man has gone crazy. He’s not incredible, he’s not smart—he’s the biggest villain in Denver! I can’t believe he used to be such a hero—he’s the reason we’re playing like crap! I’ve got to write something about what he’s become, for closure on this whole crap situation. Nostalgia can’t help you anymore, Elway...

Issue #04
Chaos ripples through the streets of Denverville. The Broncos have grown dysfunctional at the hands of EVIL ELWAY and his constant obsession for an apprentice. The rest of the Broncos grow stronger by the day, but Elway’s desire for a prodigy weakens the team and leaves a gaping hole in the lead position.
EVIL ELWAY plots in his lair. He combines potion after potion to try and create the perfect quarterback. With every failed attempt, the rest of the Broncos grow more poisoned. Elway’s constant failures are plaguing the team.
EVIL ELWAY’s most recent subject, a young quarterback whose arm rivals the incredibility of the former hero, might possibly be the solution to the Broncos’ lingering weakness. Still, if history gives us any sort of a glimpse at the future, this failure will further poison the Broncos’ potential.
EVIL ELWAY’s obsession must be stopped. The former hero has gone mad, bogged down by the unhealthy desire to rediscover the greatness of a quarterback he once was in someone else. The impossibility of this find grows increasingly more obvious, and as EVIL ELWAY fails to realize this, the fate of Denverville is DOOMED!
Denverville is in need of a hero.

𝗝𝗔𝗡𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭
I can’t put into words how exciting this moment is. After all his dysfunctionality, all his unhealthy desires, and all the ways he made our team worse by failing at quarterback, he’s finally gone! Without Elway at GM, the future of the Broncos is looking bright. Joe Ellis will take this team to soaring heights.
Still, it’s insanely tremendous to see that Elway finally manned up and realized he wasn’t helping us anymore. Thank god it’s reality. One that I am looking forward to. I would like to truly thank, from the bottom of my heart, Elway for maturing enough to make this choice. Thanks for that final drive.
