Jacoby brissett had a good week 1 vs the chargers. Putting up 190 ing yards, 2 TD, 120 QBR, 21-27.

And it made me believe Jacoby can be a above average QB in this league. But this is just 1 game so here is my reasoning.

                                          1. Age

Jacoby is currently 27 years old. And a lot of QB's are playing until 40 nowadays. IM NOT SAYING JACOBY WILL PLAY UNTIL 40. I'm just saying that is something to consider. Jacoby will be entering his prime in a few years so...

                                  2. Skill in general

Jacoby has a tendency to hold on to the ball to long. But I think that is something frank reich can fix. Andrew Luck got the ball out of his hands a lot quicker then he did previously in his career.

Jacoby is a very mobile QB. And now with a better o-line he can step out of the pocket and make plays also. Which was something he couldn't do in 2017.

Jacoby has great accuracy. 66% in 2017, and also has a good arm. In 2018 in week 3 the colts had Jacoby brissett try to throw the game winning hail Mary instead of Andrew Luck. It was incomplete but it just shows how much the colts trusted him. But Luck didn't want to risk another shoulder injury on that play so that's a minor explanation.

                                    3. Durability

In 2017 Jacoby was the most sacked QB in the NFL. Although he was sacked 53 times he had 0 injuries. Crazy toughness. Makes me believe he is very durable. And he has protection now unlike 2017.

                                     4. Stats

Jacoby threw 13 TD's, and 7 INT, and 2,000 ing yards. Sorta trash but he had a shit offensive line. And now he has one of the best o lines.

                                     5. Wins

He won 4 games in 2017. With a shit team btw. And has 1 win as a starter in new England during the 2016 brady suspension. I think with a good team he can win games which he proved in that 1 game in new England.

                                     6. 2017 doesn't mean anything

He was a young raw QB with a shity offensive line. But near the end of 2017 he showed signs of greatness. Now with a great colts team surrounding him, he might take that next step.

                                    7. Long term?

To hard to tell right now. But he recently signed a 2 year $30 million extension with the Colts. And has veteran QB Brian hoyer as a mentor. It can go really bad or really good.

Don’t think it can go really bad nor that it can go amazing, in my opinion you know what you are getting with Jacoby. Brissett is definitely a starter in this league imo, and will lead the Colts to a playoff berth
