The Theme I chose: Dipper & Mabel back in Piedmont

Coincidentally I had this idea in the works for a while and this contest seemed like a good place to finally write this story. I hope you all enjoy it.

The Bus Is Here

Dipper and Mabel’s parents both waited patiently at the bus stop for the bus from gravity Falls to pull in. It had been so long since they had seen their son and daughter and they could not wait for them to return. Soon on the horizon as the sun was setting, the bus pulled into the terminal. The doors opened up. But the twins did not get off.

Mr. and Ms. Pines looked confused. Where were they? “Hey you two waiting for your kids by any chance” the bus driver said. The two nodded. “Their in the back” he said before getting off and leaving at the end of his shift. The two of them climbed up on the bus and found Dipper and Mabel, fast asleep in the back.

First thing that the two noticed. Waddles. Mrs. Pines laughed a bit. Even though they denied it, she knew Mabel would bring Waddles with her one way or another. They decided to talk about it later.

Deciding they should not wake them up, Mr. and Mrs. Pines collected Dipper and Mabel’s belongings and put them in the car. They then carried their still sleeping children to the car as well (Mr. Pines having to also carry Waddles wondering how Stan dealt with it all). The drive was quiet as the two lay asleep in the back. Once home, the two tucked them in bed.

The sun set outside as a cool September breeze blew by. Tomorrow would be filled with stories of one amazing summer indeed. But for tonight, Dipper and Mabel slept. An adventure over. Dreaming about the memories they had made, and the friends and family they had come to know and love, all in one memorable, and life changing summer.
