I have some exciting news. As you may know I am a huge fan of the Adoption AU by marehami and Keleficent on Fanfiction.
Recently Marehami approached me about being a beta reader for the an story for the AU given Inwas such a big fan. And of course I said yes.
What it means to be a beta reader is that I have first access to the story and the opportunity to add on and help improve it.
Right now we are on chapter 6 of the story called Falling Slowly.
Here is the synopsis: Mabel must fight for her life after she is diagnosed with a serious illness. She fights against the illness with all the optimism that she has, but sometimes hugs and comfy sweaters just aren't enough. Beta reader/editor credits to both Pacifica Pines and Gravity Falls Forever (me).
I should say that this story is not entirely connected to the main au but still, it is a biggy. Um, prepare yourself if you choose to read it. I wish I could say more but that would spoil some things.

I highly reccomend it (not just because I'm part of it) and the whole AU tbh. It is VERY hard on the feels factor but it is a slice of reality story. It really is a good AU but really, saying it is heartbreaking is an understatement (plus mature). Also I had a read of chapter 3 and, well, there is this great song by Queen that summarizes where this story is going but, forgot the name.

After seeing all your posts about this AU I finally checked it out not too long ago. It was absolutely amazing, the intensity was so well done. Visualizing these characters in such unsettlingly realistic situations seems odd, but it's done so well here. Everything I love about the Pines family and their bonds is portrayed perfectly, and this is the only time fanfiction has brought me to tears. Congratulations on becoming a beta reader. I really like the new story so far.

Thank you. I agree that this AU really portrays them well. Plus yes, it is one of the only AUs that has madd me tear up too. I actually just got to read chapter 3 and well, all I can say is, brace yourself. We hope to have it complete by the end of the month.
