Chapter 4 - Shower thoughts

PREVIOSULY

While Mabel and I were walking to the car I could clearly see her biting her lips. When it comes to Mabel it means she wants to say something but is hesitating to do so.

"What is it, Mabel?" I ask her.

"We're not going to get expelled because of me, are we?"

"Of course, we won't! Don't worry cause, I've got plan!

"Oh, and Mabel... If you don't want to tell mum and dad, it's fine but, you NEED to tell me what has been happening to you from the day you started high school..." I tell Mabel with a serious look in my eyes.

"Alright, I'll tell you everything. Just... Please don't tell the others..."

I smile at Mabel and say:

"Pinkie promise!"

PRESENT

*At home in the shower*

Mabel agreed to tell me what has been bothering her this last Autumn. Though I do have a few theories as to what could have happened to her.

(Y/N) Pines didn't go to Gravity Falls so, there are a lot of things she couldn't have known about Mabel's situation. But when it comes to me, (Y/N) (L/N), well... That's a whole different story altogether...

Thanks to the show I got a lot of information about this world. Maybe not everything that is useful, seeing it as we aren't in Gravity Falls (not yet), but it's enough to know about my siblings.

I know the reason why the twins Pines have been having a lot of nightmares after their Summer vacation. That was probably because of everything that Bill did to them...

He manipulated grunkle Ford.

He destroyed Fiddleford's mind.

He made a deal with Dipper and Mabel and both of them got tricked in the end.

He created Weirdmageddon.

They had to sacrifice grunkle Stan's memoires just to defeat him. HELL! If it weren't for grunkle Stan, Mabel wouldn't be even alive right now!

Though Bill was my favorite character, I don't feel the same way about him as I used to before. It might be because I'm not seeing things through a screen this time No, this time, I'm living them. Every time I think about him now, I feel only hate and frustration towards him.

I know that since (Y/N) Pines didn't know what happened in Gravity Falls, she couldn't have known the cause of their nightmares. Though it still bothers me how she didn't do anything to help with Mabel's high school problems. From what I can see in her memories, they were close. Not as close as Mabel and Dipper used to be, but, still close.

As for my theory of why Mabel had a hard time in high school, it could be a number of things.

From what I know from the show's last few episodes, Mabel sees that going to high school isn't all sunshine and rainbows...

That high school wasn't an opportunity to get new friends. If anything, it's more of a battlefield. A place where everyone will do anything to stand above others...

So, when everyone sees a girl with good nature and a positive aura, of course no one is going to approach her.

Or at least not in a good way...

And the fact that Mabel and Dipper are in different classes did not help either.

They used to be very close before high school started but, since Dipper had become more open to communicating with others, he's been able to speak more freely with his classmates. While Mabel has been the exact opposite. Too free spirited for the gloomy atmosphere of "high school" to be accepted. So, evidently, she was rejected from the very beginning.

The next reason is probably the fact that, there are people like Charlotte. People who will bribe their way into everything. And if there is something or someone that they dislike they'd, either get rid of them or humiliate them. Considering that she made a joke out of Mabel from the very first day they met each other, this will affect Mabel throughout her entire high school life.

Just because Charlotte dislikes Mabel, nobody would try and help her. For Mabel's classmates, going against Charlotte could be considered suicide.

The last reason as to why she could've had trouble, it was probably because of the stress.

The stress that was caused because of Weirdmageddon and the stress from high school built up to one bigger bundle of stress. The fact that Mabel hasn't told anyone anything that's been happening to her isn't good for her either...

No matter which way you look at the situation. It all leads to Charlotte. She has been harassing Mabel from the very beginning. And thanks to Charlotte who confirmed it for me, that the school is indeed in on it. I now have some leverage over her.

Though it still won't be enough to pressure her. After all, she still has her "sugar daddy" to cover for her. That means I'll have to find a way to pressure not only Charlotte, but also her father and the school. I can't have her father covering for her. I have to pressure the school as well so, they can't get easily bribed by the Naidens again...

Though I still don't understand why Charlotte tries so desperately do humiliate Mabel...

It can't be because she hates Mabel. After all, she's been harassing her from the very beginning. And it can't be your good ol' bullying routine since she's only targeting Mabel. Usually, bullies take on a number of people and they do it just for the fun of it. But Charlotte is different. Sure, she still finds enjoyment in bullying Mabel but, she's still too desperate... Like she has to do it....

It can't be Mr. Naiden ordering her to do it either because, he doesn't or at least shouldn't have anything against our family.

So why does she harass Mabel?

No......

She doesn't do it because she DISLIKES Mabel...

She does it because she's SCARED of her....

She probably tried to take over her grade or middle school with her wealth and popularity in the past but, failed to do so because there was another person just like Mabel who was as kind and as free spirited as her, who became more likeable and popular than Charlotte...

I grin to myself for finally figuring out our dear Charlotte.

This is going to be interesting...

Then I hear someone knocking on the bathroom door.

"(Y/N)! You in there? Come on get out of there! I want to take a shower as well!" Dipper yells out to me from the other side of the bathroom door.

"In a minute! Let me just dry myself off and put some clothes on!" I yell to my brother.

I get out of the shower and begin to dry myself with a towel.

After I finished with that, I put on some clothes and left through the door where I see a frustrated Dipper.

"You finally decided to get out of there. For a second, I thought that you fell asleep in there." Dipper exclaims with a scowl on his face with his arms crossed.

"Oops! Looks like I got lost in thought while I was in the shower again!" I say while grinning at Dipper.

Dipper just sighs in response.

"Just please make sure you don't take too long again. I'm pretty sure that the only water left is cold water at this point..." Dipper asks me and then whispers the second part while looking away.

"Sir, yes sir!" I shout out while bringing my hand to my head to emphasize my actions.

Dipper playfully rolls his eyes.

"Now... if you could please move..." Dipper asks of me and as he does that I move out of his way.

"Thank you" He thanks me and walks in the bathroom.

Apparently, me, being in the shower for too long, isn't something new so, he easily just let it slide.

I turn around and walk in the direction of my room. I enter my room and grab my phone from my desk. When I set down on my bed, I quickly messaged Mabel so, we can finally talk.

Though I'm pretty sure that I know everything that's going on on Mabel's side. I still need to talk with her to confirm things. Plus, I can't risk someone finding out that I know so much, this way at least it won't look suspicious.

The "seen" sign appears near my message. Then Mabel quickly replies.

["I'm coming!"]

After a few minutes of waiting, Mabel knocks on the door and comes in.

"Hey! You're finally here. Let's talk, shall we..."
