Former big league outfielder Chet Lemon ed away at the age of 70, after years of health complications stemming from a rare blood condition.

Taken 22nd overall in the 1972 draft, Chet made his big league debut in 1975 and enjoyed a fruitful 16-year career with the White Sox and the Tigers until his retirement in 1990. A three-time All-Star (1978-79, 1984), he won a World Series ring with the Tigers in 1984 amid one of his best seasons. He retired with a career 1,875 hits, 215 home runs, 884 RBIs, and a 55.7 bWAR in 1,988 games between Chicago and Detroit, and he also led the American League four times in five years in getting hit by pitches.
