So my friends wanted to do a genderbend of glitchtale characters as a contest between us, and I chose Sae
I had a sketch but I didn’t like it in the slightest, so I redid it, here’s the original sketch:
It was a good concept ref, but not what I wanted, so I decided to do a different, more dynamic sketch because I love doing dynamic poses. They so fun!
So I set to work, using this as my reference
Just a quick note: no, using a reference is not anything like tracing, in fact I highly recommend using one to get better at your art and to draw better, more anatomically correct poses, so use one!
Here is the base/rough sketch! I liked it so I finished it and that’s how we ended up with the finished sketch

Other things that you need to know:
1. Sae is stepping on the patience magic here, his foot is NOT floating
2. If you want to add extra detail, fill in the empty bg with some trees! I’m gonna do the same, and if you want to do something else for the bg, that’s fine too! Just that there is a bg here
3. Everything is defying gravity for purely dynamic purposes, no other reason, well actually... the main reason + my excuse is that I think a lot of magic in one area would kinda create like an updraft, so I wanted to experiment with that!
4. All of his clothes (yes, even the boots) are in greyscale, and that mask is the grey phantoms mask
