This is a series where i discuss characters, and tell what i think about them. Because the fightscenes are amazing, but the dialoque and most of the characters are in my opinion just as good. If you do or dont agree with me, please tell me why in the comments. I will be doing every at least semi important character, but if there is any character you would want to see me do sooner, you can comment that as well. If you want to see my previous posts, you can go here #analizingcharacters. I have done a lot of characters already. I think thats all, so im just going to start.
This one is going to be interesting, since she is the only pure evil character in the series (i dont really count hate as a character yet), so it will be a little harder just to find her motives and stuff. But lets start at the beginning, with what we know about the prequel. And with that Agate. When we are actually going to see the prequel series, i will probably go in more depth, but i feel like she is the most important analyzable thing. So im just going to put a little black beast analyzing thing in here, focussing mostly on Agate. (Also i have gotten extremely interested in the part of the prequel recently for some reason, so if you like my kind of vuew on the characters, i might wright like a short writing thing if that would be fun.) So we have Agate and Copper, who are i think in charge of like the city, after the monsters have been sealed underground for sometime. They get a sister, Amber, but since i dont know their parents, i dont know if they are blood related or not, but im just going to assume they are. (Sorry this already getting really messy, i feel stupid now.) Both of the wizards have different views on the barrier, Copper wants to shatter it, Agate doesnt. And most of you would probably agree with Copper, but i feel like what Agate says isnt completely wrong either. Ofcourse we dont know everything about the war and how it started yet, but i can assume that so soon after all of that happened, the humans would not like having monsters around them. And she decides to chose for her people. She doesnt want another war, and feels like that would happen if monsters and humans get in with eachother. I personally kind of think Agate actually doesnt perse hate monsters, she just feels like this is the only right choice. And this may be just my opinion, but i feel like Copper is just being kind of selfish here. His ideals, of monsters living in peace wis humans, are more important to him then what his sister or his people think. So ofcourse, we know what happens next. They are both to stubborn, Agate challenges Copper, Copper wins. Because of this Agate loses her trait. I believe this has to do with her shattered pride, and if you look a little deeper, maybe even because she feels like she cant even protect her own people. She runs away, humuliated. She goes insane with the idea that she was right, that both races cant live in peace. And the only way to ensure humanity will survive is if all monsters will die. She will protect and lead her people at all cost. There will only be peace if Copper, the person who wants to break peace, dies. So she decides to reverse her trait. This way, it will become stronger then determination. After this, she returns to the city. Copper, who apperently has been doing nothing, is extremely happy she has returned (also did nobody notice that her hair was a completely different colour? Like, if it would have stayed grey or became orange again, i would understand, but its just brown now). She however, still has the intend to win from him, to prove she is stronger. With her new trait, she realises that even now she wont be able to beat him... unless he loses his trait. So she kills her own sister, in order to win from Copper. But her the change of her soul was to sudden, so she dies, using ambers corps as a vessel for her soul. This is where Betty is born. She lies asleep, until the barrier is broken. Around a thousand years , and then, the barrier is actually shattered. This is the moment where the bête noire wakes up. She doesnt a lot, like her past, or how she was created. The only thing she vaguely re is her purpose. This is that monsters and humans cant live in peace, so she has to kill all of the monsters. She splits up into two beings for some reason, a more child like body and Akumu, and heads to the city.
Here we meet her for the first time. She manipulates Frisk so she can get to him, the dt soul, and the monsters. After this, she convinces Jessica to kill monsters. Having the leader of a city on your side can come in quite usefull, considering she kind of has full power over it in the gt universe. With Jessica as her ally, she comes up with a plan to take her first soul, so she can start the soul harvest. With all the research she has been doing, she decides Asriel has the strongest, so she wants his. Her plan almost worked, except the fact that she now has a weaker soul then she wanted, but it doesnt matter because it still has enough power. She then tries to get the hate vial, and im not sure if she actually gets it at this moment but im pretty sure she does. After her first move, she has enough power to start her plan: the soul harvest. With this she will have enough power to destroy every monster and then rule the humans. But there are still some monsters that form a serious threat to her and her plan, so she has to eliminate those first. Her first real fight is with Gaster. Gaster has more power then the stage Betty is in right now, so she has a problem. But with enough power, she is able to use her special attack, which is stealing someone elses special attack. With this power, she wins the fight. But her victory is not long, since Alphys and Jessica came to rescue Gaster. They have a plan to kill Betty, which i will talk about in more detail in another post, but basically it doesnt work. Then something kind of strange happens. Betty uses her power to make Undyne destroy Alphyses soul. So apparently she found out in like 2 seconds what Undynes biggest fear was and managed to project that in that time, and it kind of feels impossible, but whatever. So with this, she feels like she has won again. She stabs Undyne with her own spear and thats it. But Betty didnt know about Undynes dt powers, so she actually loses. She almost dies, and she would have if it wasnt for the hate that kumu ate. Because of this she manages to flee, leaving a broken Undyne. Betty is a very bad loser with a lot of pride, so she is extremely pissed. She is also struggling with the hate, that is slowly taking over her body. But, she wants to fight and destroy the dt soul, so she can fullfil her purpose. And when the fight starts, she is actually winning. She manages to make Frisk lose power, and beats him up. Until Asriel comes, who dies inmediately. This gives Betty slightly more magic/power, but the rage inside Frisk is stronger. Betty realises she cant win, and her magic is running out. So she uses her last power to fill Sans soul with hate, turning him into her ally. Sans is the only one who Frisk has never won from, so to do that now, without save points or healing items, would be impossible, and Betty knows this. But she hasnt anticipated on Papyrus coming to save him. So she loses another battle. This makes her extemely pissed, and she makes the decision to fuse with kumu again, and i dont know why she hasnt done that earlier, but whatever, she becomes way stronger. And she also uses hate on Asriel, so she is extremely powerful now. With her new power, she manages to beat the Dreemurs and the dt soul easily, but choses to let them go, because she doesnt want to end her fun here. But if im correct, this is not what happened in the current timeline, so this hasnt actually happened (?). Instead, she goes to the arena, has a kind of useless fight with mettaton, and then the dreemurs come in. This is also the moment where her final plan comes into play, which is making her magic reserve almost completely invinceble and extremely powerful. With this, she will always have enough magic. So she is confident about her fight with the dreemurs. Chara and Asriel leave the arena, so she only has to worry about Toriel and Asgore. Eventhough especially Asgore is a tough opponent, she is still able to make them almost kill eachother. And then, she has won another battle. Until Gaster shows up. Around this moment, her magic reserve also has been destroyed, so she has to fight some of the strongest monsters with limited power. Im not going to analyse the entire fightscene right now, but basically, she is just getting weaker as the fight progresses. And she absolutely cannot handle Gaster at the end, how much confidence she may have doesnt matter anymore. So this is where and how she dies. But honestly, she doesnt care anymore. Her plan will stil be executed (sort of) and this is just where she ends.
So what do i think about her? Well, i really like her as the antagonist of the story. Chara was arguable better, but she worked really well in my opinion. And i dont know if this is correct, but for what i have seen, most storys either have a villain or a monster, or both as antagonist. A monster generally causes destruction without a really good reason, and with a story like this, it focusses more on how the characters react to the monster then how the monster itself acts. Most of the time, you will also just have a villain who has a wrong opinion about the monster in these stories. And then you have the villain, who has (good) reasons for what they do, and may also have plans(I dont know if any of this makes sense). I feel like Betty is kind of in the middle here. She mostly just causes destruction, but still has her own emotions and personality. She is extremely confident and is an awful loser. This kind of caused her death as well. With her powers, she manages to break people extremely easy, which makes her feel more like a villain. But this is all probably really controversial or just wrong.
I also wanted to mention that i dont really hate Agate or Copper. Considering they where still very young adults or maybe even kids at that time, they shouldnt have to make such a hard decision.
Thank you for reading! Im really sorry to people who have been waiting for this, its just that school is taking over my life and i dont have time for anything. Plus that this one was extremely difficult and annoying to make for some reason. Yes i know its long, i knew it would be before i started writing it, but i hope you enjoyed it anyways. It feels amazing to have finally finished this. I still have like 50 projects i want to work on, but i will try my best to release Gasters analysis as soon as possible. There is also a very high chance i missed something, so please tell me if i did. Im just done with working on this post now, so thanks again to Ink for the art, thank you for reading this mess, and have a nice day/night!
And i mean #curatorreview cause i worked really long on this and why not

Perhaps she didnt learn undyne fear immediately and she had been studying them beforehand
Just a little criticism here
1.)Please please PLEASE properly separate your paragraphs and do so every 3 to 5 sentences, these walls of text are going to both confuse and intimidate readers.
2.)Minimize repeating information, during most of these you replay the entire plot and add your 2 cents in certain points. Instead try mostly focusing on the parts you can commentate on rather that little moments of stuff.
3.)Try to use proper capitalization and punctuation, it may seem nitpicky but those do make an effect making your opinion seem better if you look semi professional with your sentence structure.
4.)Use the Bold and Italics and center to emphasize points or make your entire post look nicer
5.)Add a background image, and credit whoever made it or provide a link to where you found it. Background images make it seem less like a boring book and more of a post, plus it helps with eye strain on readers and adds a style level to the post.
Thank you for your advise. I am honoustly not that experienced in writing, especially not in english and for like posts and stuff, so I will try to pay attention to these things in the future
