The Backstory and Why I Did 40 Map Packs

Alright, this is a rather interesting topic to talk about.

Since I have now officially beaten 40 total map packs, I wanted to share the backstory and as to why I did it.

Let’s just say, it wasn’t an easy feat to start with.

The Backstory

Alright, so this dates back to Sunday. So, I was just PMing my online friend of mine when I wanted to ask her (Yes, it’s a she don’t get your hopes up) basically what her icon setup would look like. I first asked her by sending her screenshots of the online icon kit selection of icons to let her see what she wants to choose and also the colors. This is what she said.

Little disclaimer: For privacy reasons, I blacked out her name and profile picture to prevent any unintended harassment towards her.

Next, I asked her what ship.

(I was kinda expecting her to choose the SrGuillester ship tho)

After that, I just told her that she can do the rest because for the sake of not spamming her with questions and pretty much annoying her.

Later, I came back to this.

And I was pretty much done with her icon set, but then something came up in my mind. What if I wanted to actually setup my icon set to hers? That was something I was dying to do, but there was a problem.

The UFO and ball weren’t unlocked yet.

So, I did a decision that pretty much was the most painful and terrible experience I have ever felt in Geometry Dash.

Playing Map Packs

Day 1: The First Five

So, I made a task that is “complete 5 map packs to get the Clown Car.” Then, I went off to play the levels.

It was obviously terrible.

But thank God it was only 5 I had to do, right?

Wrong. Playing 15 old levels with buggy and unenjoyable gameplay wasn’t considered thankful to God.

It was an extremely slow, frustrating, painful and an over-the-top process. I seriously wanted to beat them ASAP before midnight, but thank good I did manage to beat it at around 15 minutes to midnight. It was such a huge deal to me, so I told everyone about it in Aminos I’m quite active on.

Finally, I have now made what was considered a bad idea to begin with be a reality. I am finally done for the day.

And so, I proceeded to get my well-deserved rest.

But then I realized in the morning I forgot about the ball. THE BALL.

Day 2: The Real Test Of Ten

I realized I had to do 10 more map packs in order to get the ball. I was just wanting it to just end at some point. This was another bigger burden that was behind me all along.

This time, it was even worse. I was even more unluckier this time, dying at a lot of high % places in some of the levels. The last level I had to do was Mystic Jumper.

My. God. It was somehow almost as frustrating as me trying to beat HeLL.

I was just done at this point. I just wanted this to be over. The amount of mental and physical pain was near unbearable. (All of the physical pain being giving myself slight head trauma from raging) But, I managed to pull through and finally beat the cancer fest known as Mystic Jumper. It was indeed a huge, satisfying relief. Now the only thing left was to just hit “Claim” and the quest was over.

I was done. I finished what I thought was impossibly frustrating to do. All for just a UFO and ball.

Reason

So now, what was the reason why I put myself through 2 days of pure agonizing hell trying to beat 15 map packs in one sitting? Because I wanted to change my icon setup to what my friend made out of pure interest. That was simply it. This was something I had never started from start to finish without giving up. This really shows my extreme dedication to such mind-breaking tasks like this.

Q: Is the icon change gonna be permanent?

I don’t know. It’s gonna be likely I’m gonna stick to this icon setup in particular.

What was the worst level out of all of the 15 map packs you beaten?

Probably either Mystic Jumper or Time is Eco.

How much do you hate map packs?

Delete it off the game, why did RobTop implement that in the first place. Almost all of the levels are unplayable.

Are you gonna recover from this?

Hopefully after I bashed my head out of rage and mentally from my mind being broken down from playing the worst levels ever created.
