Hello

I am back with a new hardest demon this time, which is Plasma Pulse by Giron, my 2nd insane demon ever, which I beat quite fast. I took 2 days to beat this and 5303 attempts.

Plasma Pulse is a 1.9 level featuring some very tricky gameplay, however because it is only 58 seconds long, it is probably one of the easiest insane demons out there. I would recommend this level if you are good at the UFO and the wave. You could probably beat this if you've beaten fairydust.

This level will be split into 5 sections

The Beginning: 0 - 20%

The Wave: 20 - 31%

The UFO: 31 - 55%

The Dual: 55 - 78%

The Ending: 78 - 100%

The Beginning: 0 - 20%

The level starts off with a chill cube part and then a slightly less chill ball part. The cube part is very easy, it just takes a few attempts to get the hang of. There's a few timings here and there, but nothing difficult yet. The cube part is fun to play eventhough it gets boring having to constantly do it.

The ball part is equally easy, just takes a little memorisation to master the ball timings. You might struggle with it at first, but if you can do it once it becomes very easy. The ball part is very fun to play and syncs well with the music.

The difficulty of the first 20% is probably around a medium demon, and is possibly the easiest part of the level. It's a very easy start considering that the level is insane demon, but not so easy to the point where the first 20% is free - you still have to pay attention to the beginning if you want to it.

Overall, the beginning is enjoyable to play and syncs well with the music. I never found myself getting annoyed at the first 20% (unless of course I died constantly at the start for being a dumbass), and I think that it is a good introduction to the level

The Wave: 20 - 31%

This wave part is definitely the hardest part of the level, but also the most fun in my opinion. Personally, I wish the wave part was extended until 42% and that the UFO started at 42% instead. Sure, that would make the level significantly harder, but also more fun because the UFO part sucks (I'll get onto that later).

The very beginning of the wave part is actually chill, the difficulty spike is at the first gravity portal. I would constantly die to the gravity portal at 22 because I often clicked to early. Then at 24%, you have to do 2 fast and precise inputs, which was very hard for me to do, that was probably my most common place to die in the wave. Further more, the 2nd gravity portal at 25 is also incredibly difficult - you cant just hold as the wave because you'll die. There are 2 ways of doing it: you can either let go shortly just before you hit the gravity portal, and press again shortly after you hit the gravity portal, making a W with the wave. You can also try to hold until hitting the gravity portal, and then release and hold very quickly (this is the method I use). You will either make a V or a W with the wave depending on where you let go. 26 - 28% is very difficult and requires very precise wave movements to .

In the picture you can see that I do this part of the wave differently than intended. You are supposed to go down as the wave early and do 2 fast inputs, making a W with the wave. Personally, I found it easier just to do 1 input, which meant I had to go down into the gap late and also do the input very late in order to survive. It is precise but it was a lot easier for me to do this than to do a W with my wave.

Overall, this wave part is definitely at least insane demon difficulty, if you think that this part isn't insane demon difficulty, then you are just cracked at the wave lol. Even though the wave is very difficult, I had a good time playing it, only getting annoyed when I died at the end of the wave (because the last 2% of the wave is very easy) and when I screwed up the UFO transition (I'll get to that).

The UFO: 31 - 55%

I'm gonna start by saying, this UFO part is bad, shit if you wanna call it that. First of all, the transition sucks ass. At the end of the wave, I like to do a very small tap to transition into the UFO better, but sometimes I am still holding down when I enter the UFO portal, causing me to jump as soon as I enter it (and die). Secondly, when I actually transition into the UFO properly, I might just die anyway. This is because I won't always enter the UFO portal at the same place, I might enter it really high, or really low. This changes the first couple of timings you need to do for the UFO, and I'll just die near the start of the UFO part. Not only that, the timings will change throughout the whole UFO part depending on how you do the previous timings. Basically, the UFO is very inconsistent and it's really annoying dying at the start and end of the UFO part.

The UFO part is also really hard and frustrating to learn - it took me 300 attempts to do the whole UFO in one try the first time with a start position, so I wasn't even taking into the transition :/ it took me about 1000 attempts before I could do it consistently.

Overall, the difficulty of the UFO part is hard demon, maybe insane demon, but I'm gonna call it a hard demon part because I just suck at the UFO. The UFO gets very consistent after a while and becomes much easier than the wave part, it's just very hard to get down. However, one thing I was never consistent at was the transition.

The UFO part is not very fun at all and I really disliked playing it. It brings down the enjoyment I had with this level by A LOT and it doesnt help that the UFO takes up a quarter of the level

The Dual: 55 - 78%

Oh god, this part of the level isn't very fun either... We start of with a cube dual which is quite annoying to play though. It starts of simple, but gets annoying at 58%. Depending on where you jump on the platforms as the mini cubes at 58%, it will make or break the rest of the dual. If you jump too early on the platform, it will make the next part impossible and you will likely die at 59% (the top cube will clip the platform at 59). If not at 59, you will die at 61%. The same deaths can happen if you jump too late on the platform at 58. In order to get past the dual, you have to jump at the middle of the platform at 58%, it's not a precise jump, but its precise enough to where died I at 59 many times.

You can also die here. You have to jump on the very edge of the platform in the previous image in order to not crash. If you jump in the middle of the platform or earlier, you will not make it. Jumping early at 58% can cause you to jump too early on the platform in the previous image

So yeah, the jump at 58 is the most important jump of the dual lol. The rest of the dual from 62% is very easy. The wave at 68% may seem intimidating at first, but its actually very easy, it's a joke compared to the first wave. The dual ship at 72 is very difficult, and is in my opinion, the 2nd hardest part of the level. You have to do precise movements with the ship, and also it doesnt help that dual ships have more gravity so they sink faster. Seriously, why was this necessary roptop? I didn't really like playing this ship part because I died here a total of 10 times at the dual ship from 0%. The end of the dual (75 - 78) is very easy, you just need to make sure you hold a lot since the ship has a lot of gravity. The dual ship gameplay is insane demon difficulty in my opinion, but it's very short (thank fuck for that) so its not THAT bad.

Overall, the dual is probably around hard demon difficulty. I know I complained a lot about the dual being shit, and it's because it was really annoying consistently getting far and just dying at the dual. However, it is quite satisfying to play through if you actually it, so it's not as bad as I made it out to be.

The ending: 78 - 100%

The ending of the level is pretty easy, and plays well enough. I dont really have any opinions of the ending, it's just kind of there. It's easy enough so that you shouldn't really die here at all from zero, but hard enough that it's still stress inducing from 0. The cube part is pretty standard, it's quite easy and simple. The only thing you need to is the cube jump at 78, you will really hate yourself if you forget to jump at that transition as the cube. The dual is also standard. It may look intimidating, but it's really not. You just need to make sure you miss the fake orbs at the start of the dual, and do every jump and hit every jump orb as early as possible.

Overall, the ending is about as hard as the beginning, so around medium demon difficulty. There's not really much to say about the enjoyability of the ending since it's quite easy and plays well enough. The dual at the end is kinda fun I guess, but I could have easily died at the dual and then I would be biased towards hating it lol.

Conclusion

Overall, I think it's an interesting level. It is a mesh of really fun parts and really annoying parts, so overall it's an ok level. It's hard to judge the difficulty of this level because the difficult of each part varies significantly. You can argue that it's insane demon because it has insane demon parts, but you can also argue that it's a hard demon because the level is only 58 seconds long. I'm calling this level an insane demon, mainly so I can actually feel proud of myself for beating a level that everyone else probably thinks is medium demon (*cough cough* The Furious).
