Born into a merchant family in Liyue, Yongzheng knew from a young age that he was going to one day take over the traveling business instead of any of his three older brothers. That was mostly because he, unlike them, actually held a sense of wonder and excitement for seeing new things ever since he was old enough to go out on his own.

As a child, Yongzheng would often sneak outside to explore the city and on the few occasions when he felt really daring, he would venture out further, slightly beyond the gates. Never to the point where he wouldn’t be able to run to the city guards if there ever was a monster attack of course, but he was known as a bit of a troublemaker.

That changed a bit when his youngest sibling and only sister was born. Aware that he had to be a better role model for her until she was old enough to make her own decisions, Yongzheng instead focused on learning the important aspects of his father’s business, so as to better prepare himself for the responsibility that he would one day shoulder. His charisma and quick wit made it easy for him to grasp the concept.

When he was only eleven, Yongzheng received his vision. He was the first in generations of either his father’s or his mother’s family to receive a vision, so his parents were quite proud of the fact that he had something that made him stand out from the crowd.

Finally, after years of training with a bow due to odd remarks from his mother, Yongzheng fully took over the traveling business aspect of his father’s business when he was only sixteen. Ever since then he has been seen traveling all over the globe, eager to learn and experience as much as he could while making as much money as he could. It was then that his mother handed him a Bow that was in her family’s possession for centuries.

Incidentally, he also became known as the person to hire as a bodyguard because he never really asked questions. That led him to work for some rather shady people, though he valued the experience more than he feared the reputation of his former clients.
