Patricio Manuel was the first transgender boxer to compete in a profession fight and also the first to win one.

Before Patricio transitioned he had won five amateur women’s boxing championships, but he injured his shoulder making him unable to compete in the 2012 Olympics.

He took time off to transition after the accident then came back to the ring 5 years later. Patricio won his professional debut against super featherweight, Hugo Aguilar.
