It's been way way too long since I've made a quality blog on here, but it's spring break and I'm finally back with more Maxima Content! For this post I'll be sharing some history about my Maxima and showing how original & documented it really is.
Quick History Lesson

In the year 2000 Nissan took took a risk and completely redesigned their flagship sedan, the Maxima. They changed almost everything especially the exterior, adding many controversial design elements that gave the Maxima a new "spunky/sporty" look that threw many people off guard. Using the same 3.0L V6 Nissan bumped up power from 190hp to 222hp which truely made the Maxima a sports sedan. Then in 2002 Nissan developed the 3.5L V6 which kicked out an impressive 255hp and somehow squeezed it into the Maxima allowing it to compete with much more expensive European cars. Unfortunately though the controversial design never caught on and the Maxima was Updated again in 2004 to a much more conservative design in order to attract more buyers.

My Maxima
It's no secret that my Nissan Maxima is extremely clean compared to others especially for its age. Mine is a 2001 Nissan Maxima SE equipped with the 3.0L V6 and automatic transmission. It was purchased new in 2001 at Middletown Nissan in Connecticut by my Grandparents. They have always taken great care of their cars but I feel like they took special care of this one, keeping every single piece of paper work that documented this cars history. As you can see, in the picture below, laid out on the hood is a bunch of original documents my Grandparents kept for this car.

What's included?
1st
Is the original window sticker in which you can see that my Grandparents paid somewhere around $27,000 for this car in 2001. That translates to somewhere around $38,000 in today's money!!

2nd
Is the original owners manual booklet which includes all of the extra info books like the owners manual, warranty info, and the maintenance log. All of which are in very good condition.

3rd
Is the owners maintenance schedule booklet which contains every log of when this car was serviced from when it was new until I aquired it from my Grandparents with 78k original miles in April 2017.

As you can see in the pictures below, this car was serviced at Middletown Nissan from the day it was purchased until around 75k miles. My Grandparents then moved and had Hoffman Nissan service it up until I aquired the car.

The last service under my Grandparents ownership completed at Hoffman Nissan in Connecticut just a month before they graciously gave me this amazing car!

4th
Is a "Maintenance Folio" from Middletown Nissan which holds any extra receipts I have for the car.

5th
Is the original Middletown Nissan license plate frames. And yes I still rock one on the rear of my car.

6th
Finally I have the original set of keys: Drivers key with key fob and the Red "Valet Key."

Do I still keep up with documents?
With a car this clean of course I keep all of my service documents! I may not take it to my local Nissan dealership for service but every time I perform any form of service I keep the recipient and record it. This is true even down to detailing products that I buy for this car. All of these are kept in a folder which I keep safely in a filing cabinet.

As of yesterday my Maxima has 92,130 miles and is kept in tip top shape! Even though there is a Check Engine Light it still runs like a top and has never given me any issue other than a faulty O2 sensor which apparently I'm still chasing down. I wash her almost every week to ensure that the paint stays in prime condition and detail the interior every month.

Until next time guys keep those cars clean and keep posted for more updates in the near future!

I'm not a fan of dealer frames I always take them off of my car or my familys cars. I did leave the saccucci Newport RI badge on the trunk lid.
I'm not a huge fan of them either but I thought it was cool since my grandparents bought it new in 2001.

I get that. My car came with a lot of documents. The problem is the shop it was serviced at did not put information online. So the carfax has almost nothing. Except when it was serviced in florda

Hmm, I've never checked the carfax on my car since I really never had a reason to since I know the history of it. But it would be interesting to check it out.
That red valet key is dope
Oh yeah! When I first saw that the valet key was red I thought it was super cool. I kind of wish both keys were red though.

It's definitely become my favorite shade of red too.
Absolutely amazing. It’s great seeing how much people care about their cars.
Thanks! I put alot of time and energy into keeping my car clean and in great condition.
I love it man, I was lucky enough to buy my BMW with all the original documents, and since 2004 I have every record of maintenance which I gladly continue to add to. That’s a great looking Maxima, never knew the early 2000’s ones had that much power!
I love having every document to go along with my car! It also gives me peace of mind that it was taken care of properly. Thanks, and oh yeah Nissan was definitely trying to make a statement with the Maxima in the early 2000's.
Beautiful! :+1:
I love that color!
I'm also quite a fan of the styling of the Maxima, particularly the rear end.
The first car I ever drove stick in was my grandfather's 2000 Nissan Maxims SE. He bought it after retiring from General Motors in 1999.
He still has it to this day, and daily drives it, when he's not driving my grandma around in her boring ass Nissan Quest...
Thanks! I'm a huge fan of the 5th gen Maxima styling especially the taillights.
That's the one thing that I would love to have in this car is a manual transmission so that I could truely get that complete control experience.
And don't hate on the quest too much, I believe they had the 3.5L V6 so they're no slouch of a minivan.
