It can't lock and one side of the tailgate was off its hinge which makes me worried someone tried to mess with it. Tried tightening the bolt before the video and it's still wiggling.
Nissan Frontier tailgate lock won't work.

I would say it's just worn. it doesn't look like there should be that much movement on the pivot, I'd replace the tailgate handle and see if that fixes it
