Title explains it. My little brothers bike, was low on oil don’t know how long it’s been low or anything, he doesn’t take too good of care of stuff, I should probably start to check behind him. Last week he ran it and it wasn’t making that rattle. Quit riding because the chain bunched up around the front sprocket and broke the cover. I don’t see how that’s related but figured I’d include the info. Idk if it’s just something minor broke and is rattling or if it’s internal, I’ll go out and look at it better later I’m pissed at him rn cause he’s been rough as hell on the bike and trying to work on shit when I’m irritated I usually end up making things worse
******EDIT******
After adding oil and running it some it isn’t as bad but hasn’t stopped completely. May check behind the flywheel for pieces of the cover tomorrow thanks to Nick’s suggestion. I doubt that’s it since adding oil helped it some but it’s worth a shot. Probably just run it till it goes then that’s that.

Almost wanna bet there is a piece of that broken cover inside the flywheel.

Took whats left of the cover off and shook the piss out of the bike couldn’t get anything to rattle or fall out. Have all of the cover I think; it’s just in a couple pieces

I would take the entire flywheel off. Even though the broken case is aluminum,it still is slightly magnetic, or could just be really in there

May pull it then, couldn’t get a magnet to stick to the case at all so I doubt it’s stuck because of magnetism but I guess it could just be in there good. Figured I’d hear it rattle though
Kinda sounds like a stuck valve but idk how it would run with a valve stuck open
Added oil and it lessened but it’s still there. Probably just let him run it till it blows then scrap or something
