The bus had stopped. It was the stop asked of a girl trying to avoid the assholes and people too young to be here and just get the fuck to the GTAN office. She had just brought the Chrisendor House to victory against Stepherin in the Science Bee. In-between making art and challenges, you might know that she writes for a newsletter every fortnight, and the office in which the team meets is where she's headed.

Of course, the GTAN office is never barren. There's Sofa, the beautiful young woman assigned to manage the team (as hard as that may be), Eedie, a girl of few words that is great at getting things in efficiently, Narwhal, that blue-haired idiot buried in the corner of her desk (not how I would have described you but okay), Cats, everyone's non-binary pal, and to give a proper intro, Calem. Leader of the Chrisendor House and volunteers for way too much stuff, including this. And she had a question in her mind as she walked in the door…

Calem: “Heya, guys. I know it's our off-week, but I was wondering... What would you guys think if we got ourselves a mascot?”

Sofa: “A mascot? ...Sure?”

Narwhal: “Hmm…”

Calem: “I know it's an out-of-nowhere idea, but it could probably add some charm to the newsletter!”

Sofa: “Dude, we have a TON of charm! Have you even met me?”

Calem: “Yeah, but that probably isn't reflected well in our articles.”

Sofa: “...I suppooooose so…”

Narwhal: “If only the maskot was something exciting…”

Sofa: “mascot.”

Calem: *mutters* “The things an improv performance can screw up…”

Sofa: “So, what did you have in mind?”

Calem: “I… uh…”

Narwhal: “You didn't think of anything, did you?”

Sofa: “Time to red robin the shit outta this idea. First thing that comes to mind, everyone go!”

Narwhal: “How 'bout a bumblebee? Cause they're cute and fluffy, and kinda stupid.”

Calem: “An old Macintosh computer with a face?”

Sofa: “A sloth, cause we work slow as fuck!”

Calem: *pfft*

Cats: “What does stuff at the last second?”

Sofa: “Can't we use Ted? Is that an option?”

Calem: “We don't have the licensing to use Ted's likeness.”

Cats: “And that's a bad idea, anyway.”

Calem: “How about we see if the community has any good ideas?”

Sofa: *sigh* “My ideas aren't that awful, are they?”

Calem: *flustered* “No, you have great ideas! I just thought can send in their suggestions, as well as why they believe it suits us, and the one that gets the most upvotes could be worked into our mascot!”

Sofa: “Alright. It's your idea, so I won't stop you. See you later tonight!”

Calem: “I won't let you down!”

After typing up a quick pamphlet, Calem grabs the stacks she printed and puts them up around town.

“Mascot needed! GTAN is looking for a mascot to appear in the Game Theorists Amino Newsletter and would like your ideas. They will be publicly displayed [in the comments below] and will be voted on. The deadline is Wednesday, September 5th. We are excited to see what you come up with!”

Proud of her work, Calem settles in for the night. Scouting for the next big stories can wait until tomorrow...

In an Amino I lead, we've been throwing around the idea of the staff team creating a mascot for the Amino that'd be shown in PSAs. Perhaps, in this case, the Newsletter staff would be the ones to decide.

What if each of the writers had a certain trait they had to organize? Whether it be with or without the public's voting, someone would decide on the mascot's race, their hair styles, their complexity, their clothing and everything else an amazing mascot would need.

Does that make sense?
