So today at work we took a long break and this one guy, who always accuse me of all various things that go wrong, said:
"Hmmm, I should draw something!"
He takes out paper and pencil. And then they actually opened the gallery on their mobile and drew the exact same picture they have drawn before. Like, I went cool with it. I just thought they would come up with a new idea.
I said: "Oh cool, you draw? I didn't know that! May I see what you are drawing?
They: "I'm drawing this picture. This one I drew yesterday. It took me SOO long and I put so much effort into it!"
They pointed on their display, a drawing of a snake coming out of a monitor.
Me: "Oh that's pretty cool! I draw too, mainly on my computer though."
They: "Do you have use pen tablet?"
Me: "Yeah, I do! I got one just a while ago and I really love usin- "
They: "Well... drawing on computer is way easier than drawing traditionally. Also traditional art looks way better than digital work!"
Me: "Mhm, I think I can I agree. I'm less good at traditional than digital..."
They: "Exactly, and I am way better than you at traditional art!"
Yupp they actually said that ^^
But it didn't really bother me because as we were talking they were finish their "masterpiece". And then they showed it to me:
Me: "Wow, that actually looks pretty good. I like the cracks of the monitor!"
I was surprised. They were not that self-confident for no reason.
They: "Oh yes, look at the details of the snake and the monitor!
Me: "May I try to draw the same thing?"
They: "I bet you can't draw this better than me."
Me: "I mean I could try at least..."
They: "Haha yeah, good luck on that!"
Me: "Can you give me a piece of paper please?"
They: "Here, take this papersheet and I'll lent you my mechanical pencil and eraser. BUT NO TRACING!!1"
Me: "Alright, don't worry!"
And so I sat down and started doodling my version. Of they didn't pay any attention to me. But I also didn't really care, honestly. After about 20 minutes I had mine done as well.
Me: "Heyo, I finished mine! I hope it looks ok ^^"
They: "... Yeah, I'm afraid you are missing a lot of things here, sadly."
Me: "Oh? What is it missing?"
They: "A lot of details. I mean, it looks good, but mine's better. Hey yo, come here guys and look at this! Which do find better? Mine, or his?"
I was dying when everyone pointed at my creation :joy:
They: "Wait really? Hold on, mine's not done yet!"
*starts erasing hardcore*
In all seriousness, I don't judge people by their skill. Like, everyone starts somewhere. But their personality / behavior is priceless ^^'

Every artist is good, I hate when people think their better than someone else in any way, that is rude to me an instantly I find that person arrogant. Everyone has their unique styles. I hope someday all artists can get along an not say things like "I'm better than you cause I do this or that" or "traditional or digital is better than the other" all forms are wonderful creations! All artists are great, even if they are simple an another is more detailed. The fact we all create art should unite us. I'm not competitive towards others ( only to myself, always wanting to better in myself and not against others) so that is just my perspective and I understand others are more competitive.

Dude! That is priceless! Same thing happens to me, but with yoyos instead. Don't you just hate it when people get cocky and think they are better than you? Well that changed after they almost hit themselves in the face with a metal yoyo XD

Yeah, I try telling them that, but they're just like "I bet that's easy" or "You're using a cheat yoyo" and all that. I've learned to just leave them think what they want XD
