:zap: This is Our 20th issue of Spotlit staff! This month we welcomed several new beans into the staff team, so far they are doing quite well and I can tell they will fit the position amazingly with time :zap:

:pencil2: To start us off, please give me a rundown of the basics - your name, age, and who you are as a person! :pencil2:

I’m Nirvana. I’m 18 years old. I’m this nerdy trans dude that just loves gameplays and all things gay really. I feel a strong affinity with the earth and all it’s being. I always felt really deeply connected to the earth and my favourite weather is when it’s raining.

As for all things gay. I come from a household where being trans and queer isn’t the best thing. So I try to show other people that are in my situation that there’s still beauty in being part of the LGBTQIA+ community. That there’s still hope for you and a beautiful future awaiting for you.

I’m also an artist with a love for drawing botanical drawings, it’s my favourite subject to draw. I also love photography and once again nature plays a roll with this as I love nature photography!

:pencil2: Your main fursona is a Piru named Nirvana - Who are they to you as a character, and do you have any other fursonas? :pencil2:

To me they are a total embodiment of myself. They show my shy and quiet self yet the third eye represents my curiosity with the world and my knack of always seeing things others don’t see. I’m forever being observant and that’s why I think having three eyes really clicked with me. They’re a really important part in my life and definitely show a lot of who I am. I mean if you look at his ref you’ll see he wears mismatched clothing, which is something I tend to do! Silly but I do it anyway!

I do have other fursonas. I have my retired main sona Mayhem who used to represent me but I felt that I eventually outgrew him even when I tried redeg him. I have mutated hyena named Lagos, a demon dog named Damien and finally a colourful adopt that I grew to love called psycho!

:pencil2: thats so interesting, especially about the tree eyes 👁👁👁 What are your plans so far, for yourself for the future? :pencil2:

I mean I am really interested in art. It’s one of my ions. My furry art isn’t that great because I’m quite new at it. Though, I am a botanical artist since that’s my favourite thing to draw. I plan on trying to go to animation school after I graduate or do a tattoo artist apprenticeship. I’d love to become a tattoo artist or animator. Those are my dream.

What’s your opinion on how the platform has evolved as the years ed, for better or worse? :pencil2:

Honestly, I’ve only been on this platform for a year so I have to it that I haven’t overtly seen it grow in my opinion. Though since I ed I’ve had nothing but positive experiences on this app before I was staff and now being able to help it run smoothly is like a dream come true. I’ve heard that it was quite chaotic in the past but now it seems everything is very organised and I appreciate all of the growth this platform has been though. I can’t wait to see it grow more!

:pencil2: What does success mean to you? :pencil2:

Success means to me that I’ve reached the goal I’ve set for myself. It can be big goals and little goals. For example some days just getting up and going through the day counts as a success for me. Other times it’s bit leaps like getting into the university I want to get into. Success really is whatever you’ve set for yourself to achieve and they may seem like the smallest of things but honestly every minute of the day is a success to me. I’m just so happy to be alive and that to be is a success in itself.

:pencil2: Do you contribute in any other ways within the furry fandom? :pencil2:

I wouldn’t say I contribute much other than on the staff team. I mean I have a Chatroom where I try and interact with the community and just genuinely try to facilitate people having a good time. I love to interact with this community because it really is filled with such wonderful furries and I love meeting them all. Though other than that I can’t say I contribute too much honestly!

:pencil2: What’s the worst experience you’ve had on Furry Amino, or the worst thing about the platform? :pencil2:

I think the worst experience I’ve had is probably when the bots came and invaded the platform and it was just banning bot after bot after bot. There didn’t seem to be an end in sight and honestly it just made me quite anxious and feel a bit hopeless. They just didn’t seem to stop coming. The fact that team amino wouldn’t let us lock the community really upset me and that they didn’t listen to all the emails our beautiful people’s on this here amino sent. Still means a lot to me that those people did participate in the stop the bot event! Thank you everyone!

:pencil2: And what about the best thing about the app, or your best experience? :pencil2:

My best experience was definitely becoming part of the staff team. It really has helped me feel motivated and make me feel so loved and cared for. This staff team is like a family and I love every single one of its past and present. I’ve met so many close friends through the staff team and it’s been an absolute blast just learning about everyone. I’m so blessed to have everyone that is on the staff team in my life. They mean the most to me!

:pencil2: Why are you a staff member? :pencil2:

I’m a staff member because I’m committed to helping out this beautiful community to run smoothly and ensure that all issues are dealt with. I think I’ve mentioned this in the above questions but there are just so many wonderful people on this platform, including the staff team, that make working for this community an absolute dream. It makes my day every time I can help someone help even if it’s just something small!

:pencil2: Since you were recently promoted, what have you found to be different between being a curator and a leader? :pencil2:

Well the major difference that I’ve noticed is the fact that there definitely are extra added responsibilities and duties of a leader. There is quite a bit that I have to do now than when I was a curator but I must say that I’m fully enjoying it! Thank you for asking!

I definitely think I’d be spending more time on my art than I am recently and probably a bit more socialising with others on other platforms. I don’t believe that things don’t happen for a reason and honesty I don’t think I could now imagine my life now without furry amino. It’s become so intertwined and linked to me that it’d be weird to not have it!

Definitely my favourite things to take photos of botanical subjects. I just love nature with the fullest of my hearts and by having the ability to capture the beauty of the world is such an honour. I just love seeing how things grow over time and the way plants can be brought into beautiful compositions!
