This here is a pea combine. It’s a machine that I worked with during the last two summers.
The job paid well and as a minor I was getting about 5 - 6 hundred dollars a week. However, the average day was 12+ hours long and extremely hot and loud. Besides that fact you also spent the majority of the day in solitude.
Although I liked the pay and the people. And it is something that not many people have had first hand experience with. But it really does run you into the ground. Besides it’s extremely slow work (~.5mph) and boring, so I’m probably not going to do this job again.
Also in both of my years there have been major accidents and one almost took my life. So yeah that’s another reason why I’m not going to do this again.
