Aureus, born Zhi Wu Xing, was born a simple man, raised a farmer on a small village on the eastern province of China. The harvests were considerable, bandit raids weren't frequent...life was good, despite the occasional hardships.

But all that is good must come to an end, as all the roads of fate converged into doom for the Provinces of China, Ashfeld, the Myre and Valkenheim. Cataclysm.

"For all that is just."

Not even the pious were spared from the earth's onslaught, as Zhi saw it firsthand. The temple he was heading to for his yearly pilgrimage had crumbled, its faithful lied dead, its shrines defiled in a twisted way that hurt his very soul. From this day forward, he took a vow, to save as many people that had fallen while he was spared, and to help rebuild the fractured world.

"Upon this saber, i swear Victory !"

Lucky for him, there were many that shared his goal, as one day he happened upon a company of missionary Ashfeldian Knights hired by the emperor, Gao Lei, as part of the relief effort. He asked to them so he too could play his part. They happily accepted, as times were tough, and the more hands on deck, the better. He stuck with them for the best part of a decade, enough time to become an honorable knight in his own right, thus he was baptized as Aureus, for his heart of gold and willingness to help his fellow man selflessly.

"This blade swings for Order !"

After his stint with the missionary Knights, he decided to return home, not as the simple man he left, but as the devoted paragon he became. Happily for him, he came back not to a destroyed China, but a thriving one, cities were prospering once more, its people were safe, and its markets booming with trade and commerce. It brought tears of joy to his eyes. He asked to see the provincial regent, to thank them personally for their work in his former homeland, and share their stories. Thus he met Yinlong, a woman as devoted as him. After hearing her story, and her ultimate goals, Aureus was moved. He asked to swear an oath to serve her as Knight, with the condition of having his own company of warriors. She accepted, and thus were born the Sky Knights, the shock troop of Order.
