⇇♔PERSONALITY♔⇉
↤☩When joyful☩↦
≫ Joy is a fairly common feeling for Akane to experience, as she enjoys her lifestyle and careers. When joyful, plenty of her lesser traits are typically less prevailing (excluding her hotheadedness). Akane tends to be more approachable and easier to interact with.
↤☩When angry☩↦
≫ As a result of her hotheaded nature, Akane is no stranger to confrontation if angered. Although typically civil in the way she goes about, it is a possibility that she will threaten one of they are to annoy her.
↤☩When sad☩↦
≫ Akane doesn’t like to dwell on her sadness, hence she tries to take her mind off of it. This can be done in a variety of ways, some of which include: talking with a friend in a casual manner, partaking in hobbies etc. She’s surprisingly more sociable than before, as conversing with others is an easy way to get focused on something else.
↤☩When fearful☩↦
≫ Fear causes Akane to put on an exaggerated act of confidence and assertiveness. For some, this is easy to spot. Usually those close to Akane can see through this act. However, to most, this is not the case. This is what Akane hopes for, as it can be a moralising sight for Clan Kagame’s soldiers and allies to see.
↤☩When moody/depressed☩↦
≫ When moody, Akane can be summed up as being in a more intense variation of her angry mood. The same can be said in regards to Akane’s depressed state (although rare) being a more intense version of her sadness. She finds coping with these two emotions harder, which is a given.
↤☩When irritated☩↦
≫ Irritation will make Akane prone to actions such as tapping on surfaces or messing about with her hair if possible. Her irritation is most noticeable in her unamused facial expression and her fed up sounding voice. An irritated Akane has a tendency of rushing through events/tasks in order to escape the situation.
↤☩When stressed☩↦
≫ If stress is only experienced for a shorter period of time, Akane can put on a disguise of calmness and will reinforce her typical attitudes. However, if stressed for too long, the cracks in this disguise begin to show. Mood swings and unprovoked aggression can be a result of Akane being over stressed.
↤☩When surprised☩↦
≫ Genuine surprise will totally change Akane’s speech pattern. Her clear and confident voice will be replaced by a pattern of pauses and filler words such as “uh” and “um” etc. Mental denial may occur, but these effects are often back under control after a short duration.
↤☩When in love☩↦
≫ At first, Akane will simply try to spend more time with whoever has taken her interest. This time is never anything inherently romantic. Eventually, she will try to shift the time spent to be a little more intimate/meaningful. After some time contemplating and confirming her feelings, Akane is very open and straightforward about them with the one she loves.
↤☩Overall general emotion☩↦
≫ Akane’s general emotion can be described as alert, yet content. Overall, she is a content woman despite her ambitions to be something bigger and better. However, Akane’s overall emotion can easily change, depending on the situation she finds herself in.
✧———✧❖❖✧———✧
❝ A common occurrence is for myself and allied leaders to fall out after disagreeing over strategising and planning. They claim that I am not willing to consider their approaches and that I’m ‘too hotheaded’. Ugh, I expected more intelligence and competency to come from people of their status. ❞

✧———✧❖❖✧———✧
⇇♔ABILITIES♔⇉
↤☩Stalwart’s Breakthrough☩↦
≫ Whilst on horseback and accompanied by her squadron of cavalry, they will collectively smash headfirst into an enemy flank and unload two crossbow shots each (from duel wielded crossbows) into the soldiers unfortunate enough to be in front of them, before retreating to reload and potentially repeat. This aggressive strategy generally shows success as it demoralises the enemy and can eventually break a flank, tipping the scales in Akane’s favour.
↤☩Clearing a Path☩↦
≫ With gunpowder acquired through trade, Akane has some specialised arrows with said gunpowder around the tips. After being lit, the gunpowder will explode after five-to-ten seconds or on a hard enough impact. This ability can be used both on foot or on horseback, but is more commonly used on horseback.
↤☩Exhilarating Presence☩↦
≫ Those fighting alongside Akane have a heightened morale and therefore fight harder. Most enemies who have heard of her legend/tales are intimidated by her presence and are more likely to make mistakes and/or flee.
✧———✧❖❖✧———✧
❝ In the event of a successful trade deal being established with a sub faction of the Wu-Lin, my strategy would be vastly more effective and borderline revolutionary. ❞

⇇♔HISTORY♔⇉
↤☩Childhood☩↦
≫ Akane’s childhood would be one of some odd normality. Being born into Clan Kagame’s leading family, she was destined to eventually become Daimyo. What made her childhood a little odd was that her parents had shown very little attention to their child, to the point of borderline neglect. Daimyo Koro Kagame, Akane’s mother, was busy governing the Clan and even off fighting in wars when necessary. Koro’s reasoning for the lack of interaction with her daughter was at least understandable, as her position naturally came with heavy responsibility and time consuming activities.
Akitake Kagame didn’t have such an understandable reason. The man was much more interested in his pets in addition to personal hobbies than his own daughter. He had employed a couple to do the job instead. Tomotoki and Kana were the names of said couple; their names aren’t too important. What was important was their impact and influence on Akane, since they were effectively the acting caretakers of the girl. To begin with, a strict school routine for her was put into effect at a young age, roughly around six years old. This routine delved into reading, writing, playing instruments and other academic/artistic topics.
Said routine was not taught by Tomotoki, nor Kana. Private tutors and teachers from across the Myre were employed to see this through, as ittedly, neither were qualified to do so themselves. What became apparent soon into this routine was Akane’s ability as a student, showing keen interest as well as being a fast learner. Unfortunately, there were problems blocking her progress. Akane’s personality and traits that are with her to this day were largely present in her early childhood. Hotheaded, impatient, and mischievous (the latter of which slowly faded as she aged). Combined together, this trio of traits had severely hindered her progress, despite her definite ability as a student.
However, there were more traits to be noted that were not negative in nature. A strong will and quick mind were also traits that would stick with Akane through to her current life, however they would mostly be beneficial to her, unlike the traits mentioned previously. As a result of the situation regarding her parents, Akane had a strong respect for her mother due to her service to the Clan, accompanied by a deep resentment for her father’s apparent uselessness.
The rest of Akane’s early childhood was fairly uneventful and nothing noteworthy had occurred. She still followed the routine set in place for her, relationships largely remained the same and nothing significant had occurred. Nothing noteworthy aside from the interest of militaries and war that had begun to make its way into Akane’s mind, as it was known that eventually she would need to possess the ability to fight once made Daimyo. Akane figured it would better to be ready as early as possible. Hence, her reading around military leaders and warfare.
↤☩Teenage☩↦
≫ Significant growth would occur in her teenage years, vastly more significant than what had happened prior. Sure, her childhood had set the stones for family relationships and academic education, but Akane isn’t known today for her academic work, she is known for her accomplishments as well as talents on the battlefield…mostly. Clan Kagame had seen itself warring against a rival clan over a territorial dispute. This was was the reason for Koro’s often absence during a lot of Akane’s early childhood. By this point, said war (The Kagame-Tamura war) had been raging on for eight years. Despite its length, there was still no clear potential victor. Boredom soon took hold of Akane. Bored of having the same old routine with the same old topics. Bored of not having many hobbies to pursue.
Well, that was a little bit of an exaggeration. Akane, now fourteen, did have a handful of hobbies which had her gripped: Kendo and unarmed martial arts, pursued since the age of eleven (taught by a renowned mentor). Akane had begun her journey towards gaining skills which would help with her future career as a fighter. Of course, three years of training was nowhere near enough to make a person qualified and ready for war. She wasn’t going to be fighting yet. Whilst not having her directly involved in them, Koro had occasionally took Akane with her to small scale ‘battles’ within the ongoing war Clan Kagame was in. Actually, skirmishes would be the better word. Koro wanted Akane to have some sort of presence within the clan’s military as soon as possible. In normal circumstances, this would not have been until much later in her life, potentially when she was around 16-18 years of age.
Koro took this risk due to the grim reality that she could die in battle at any given moment, leaving this world without having given Akane any form of guidance or experience personally. Frankly, she didn’t think Akitake would be much help with the dilemma, so she took matters into her own hands. Regardless, Akane was more than pleased with this outcome. Aside from her martial arts training, she had found her home life to be largely boring and uneventful - this would surely shake things up. Every skirmish that Akane attended was a victory; no thanks to her, though. She had to remain in the backline, as far from danger as possible. Her job was to observe how warfare played out, and to take notes on the events that took place.
Slowly but surely, Akane began to idolise her mother. Despite somewhat ‘understanding’ why she was absent often, it still left a sour taste in her mouth. Akane couldn’t fully comprehend how necessary Koro’s presence was. Gradually, that sour perception faded. Throughout the following years, Akane would proceed to accompany Koro more often, whilst also receiving training from both herself and the previous mentor. Eventually, Akane would have to be tested, to see if her training at home and study of the battlefield with Koro had actually meant something. Hence, a few months after her seventeenth birthday, Akane would be participating in real warfare.
Of course, she wasn’t put straight into the heat of a raging, crucial battle. For her safety, considering that it will be Akane’s first real fight, she would be involved in a skirmish, mirroring much like what she had witnessed in her younger teenage years. She was to not leave Koro’s side, either. This ‘test’ and all the previous training/preparation would be meaningless if Akane had gotten carried away and killed in her first skirmish. Regardless of how unfree she really was on the battlefield, Akane was beyond exhilarated to finally actively fight with her clan but more importantly; fight alongside her mother.
This first skirmish had resulted in a victory, but the battle was extremely one sided. Clan Kagame’s forces significantly outnumbered the opponent’s, due to the presence of Akane. Despite that, she had proven her ability to work under pressure and had shown a deal of resilience, both of which were valued traits to have in a warrior. With time, Akane would participate in more skirmishes, eventually working up to fighting in actual battles, ones that made the prior skirmishes look like nothing (which to be fair, they were).
To be frank, regardless of her victories, she wasn’t inherently anything ‘fantastic’. Her young age and inexperience was a large contributor for this. Another factor was that she simply hadn’t discovered the position she’d thrive in yet. This discovery was soon to come. Whilst not having particularly outstanding skills with traditional combat, her high spirits and quick thinking were noticed, by both allies and foes alike. As Akane grew into adulthood, her activity in Clan Kagame’s campaigns became more frequent.
Clearly, Koro could not always have Akane by her side during these battles. Thus, after some more victories (and a handful of losses), Akane would be allowed to fight more independently. With the ing of time, the hotheadedness which Akane possessed became increasingly prevalent. Partly, this was a result of confidence. The reasoning for it mattered not, what did matter is that her hotheaded nature continued to prevail into her adulthood.
↤☩Adulthood☩↦
≫ By age nineteen, Akane had found where she’d thrive in up until the current day. She thrived as a leader which was great considering that she was the future Daimyo. Tweaks would be needed to make her more effective at leading but Akane was, by enlarge, a worthy commander. Despite this fact, leadership isn’t what Akane’s fated role would be. What became apparent rather rapidly was Akane’s supposed gifted talents on horseback. Discovered after a surprise ambush by Clan Tamura forces whilst on her horse, Akane had demonstrated skill on horseback which stunned even her. Said skill was without much previous training, which made the discovery all the more staggering.
It’s worth mentioning that this ability was nothing godlike. Akane’s skill was simply surprising, especially once the fact that she was barely trained in this position is considered. Many deem this a turning point in Akane’s military career. Prior to this, she was somewhat known as an impatient commander who’s hotheaded behaviour had landed her in heaps of trouble in the past. Perhaps the greatest example of this would be a year before this event. An overconfident assault driven by her hotheadedness resulted in Akane’s temporary capture, which only ended after she subsequently broke out of her holding four months into her incarceration.
Now, she had found an area of expertise of which she thrived in, an area that she’d focus almost all her efforts on to improve. At this stage, Akane’s fame began to spread. She did still pursue the development of her martial arts and swordsmanship, but the focus was still largely on her skills on horseback. Growth in her ability as a cavalry-woman was swift and hastily done. Through trial and error, through experimental tactics, Akane had managed to form her own effective strategies and tactics in the coming years.
During Akane’s time as a twenty one year old, a number of important events had occurred. First and foremost, Akane’s successes as a cavalry-woman combined with her growing fame had resulted in a nickname which she is known by today; Akane of Josei. Her dominance on the battlefield grew as her skill on horseback did, Akane’s fame grew alongside them. Another event of importance was an injury that Koro had fallen victim to. An arrow lodged deep into her hip had rendered her unable to continue the fight, to continue to lead properly. Initially, this injury was predicted to incapacitate Koro for six to eight months. A lengthy period of time to be absent from the war, but it was at least a survivable incident; or so it was believed to be.
Soon into Koro’s leave, her health did see a sudden decline. An infection was spreading within her, festering and worsening the condition. Since the original injury was located in the hip, amputation was out of the question. One could only hope for Koro’s recovery, although the situation was becoming increasingly hopeless. With that, it fell to Akane to lead the Clan’s war effort until Koro recovered. That was the best case scenario. Worst case scenario (and the more likely one) would be that Akane leads the war effort during Koro’s absence - and after her death if it came to that. Koro’s condition infected the minds of Clan Kagame’s military, they were all demoralised due to the state of her.
Nobody was hit harder than Akane, it devastated her. Seeing her mother, her friend, her idol like this? It was cruel. It was horrific. Nevertheless, Akane persisted with the war effort. Her resilience and ability to work under pressure/emotional strain was put to the absolute limit, but she managed to act strong. She managed to act hopeful. Akane’s ability to put on an act to moralise allies first saw its use here, it did have a strangely positive effect on those serving with her. Perhaps in the darkest of times, people just need somebody to look up to. Somebody to light their way through the darkness. Akane would prove to be that light for Clan Kagame.
With Koro’s lack of presence on the battlefield, nobody could realistically keep Akane from her hotheaded and impatient instincts. In her mindset, she generally succeeded, thus she didn’t have to take the slow and steady approach. If and when she could get a quick decisive victory, she would take it. That was her mindset. This freedom saw a strange string of events unfold within a battle. It saw the best of Akane’s performance, yet it also saw the worst of it. This battle saw Clan Kagame fight alongside a smaller allied clan, and the plan set out was the type Akane despised: slow and steady.
With nobody to hold the leash, she led her cavalry to charge and attempt to break through the enemy right flank, totally disregarding the plan which was crafted. The strategy Akane employed here would become a signature one of hers, due to it fitting her style and actually having a modest success rate. This strategy included smashing headfirst into the enemy flank (in this case the right flank), knocking some soldiers in the front out of the way, followed by every member of the charge firing two crossbow bolts each from duel wielded crossbows into those that remained in their way. A breakthrough was made as a cause of this charge. The entire enemy right flank was obliterated, resulting in the midsection of the enemy army being exposed. Victory was well within sight - Akane’s strategy had worked. She had managed to snag that quick victory. Or at least, she would have. She would have if she pursued the enemy and finished them off.
Instead, whilst circling around to assault the exposed army, Akane spotted a different target. She had spotted the enemy supply train. Food, money, equipment, whores - all were generally present with the supply train. Akane totally abandoned the idea to finish of the enemy army, ordering her squadron of cavalry to raid the supply train, stating that ‘we have done our job, now we wait for our allies to do theirs!’. Whilst she and her squadron were frolicking about and enjoying their spoils, the battle being fought by the main armies had resulted in a stalemate, making the entire battle and loss of life completely meaningless. Needless to say, once a smug Akane returned and explained why she had left, all she received was a total berating from pretty much every commander, captain, officer etc. Even Koro had criticised Akane for this stupid undertaking of an otherwise winnable battle.
There was no time for Akane to sulk or reflect on the total embarrassment, she had a more important issue to resolve. There was no guarantee that Akane would ascend to become Daimyo, there was competition, that competition being Akitake Kagame. However unlikely it would be for a man like him to take control instead of her, Akane did not want to risk it. What if he did manage to ascend to power? What then? His uselessness, laziness and inability to do literally anything worthwhile would singlehandedly bring down Clan Kagame. Although the competition was small, she’d rather there be none in the first place. Akane had ended up being widely liked and ed due to her military successes for the clan (her recent blunder and utter embarrassment was not publicly revealed, so the general populace of Clan Kagame was unaware) so she felt cocky and in a position to do something drastic.
In accordance to her stance regarding her father, she had met with an Ashfeldian mercenary group under disguise to negotiate a contract. A contract which would order the death of Akitake Kagame. A deal was reached. She provided all the information they needed, such as a general description of Akitake and where he should be the following day. With that errand sorted, she returned to where she normally would be. Sure enough, the following day Akitake had been killed whilst out swimming. Akane specifically made sure to remain in Kagame Castle during the day, making it seemingly impossible for her to be responsible. Only one more important errand needed to be done.
Once again, Akane met this mercenary group under disguise. They expected her to hand over the promised reward. Instead, she opted to kill them all. No living perpetrators meant that there was no chance the trail could be followed back to her. The less loose ends the better. However, one loose end did manage to escape the slaughter. His name being Leonida Tatian. Naturally, this man became a sworn enemy of Akane’s, despite not knowing her true identity. He only ed that clear, commanding and confident voice.
The deed was done. It was time for Akane to return home, to return to Koro. She wanted to be there during her final days, and her final days were coming.
↤☩Present☩↦
≫ Koro Kagame is dead. She died a year and a half ago. She never lived to see the victory of Clan Kagame against Clan Tamura, nor the gains that came with it. With Akane’s victory in this war, she earned her clan the territory of Chojo, as well as earning herself the nickname of ‘The Stalwart Horsewoman’. Her skill as as a regular soldier could be described as solid, now. Although ‘solid’ was nothing too impressive, given that many other Daimyo were of a similar skill bracket.
Currently, the Akane is twenty three years of age. As a cavalry-woman, her skills had been refined to the point of near mastery. It was her skills as a cavalry-woman that mostly contributed to her now widespread fame after all. She still had her gifted talents in this position, Akane still thrived in it. Clan Kagame had emerged from the Kagame-Tamura war a changed and victorious place, although the cost was heavy. Even now, a year after the war had ended, both sides were still in the process of recovering mentally. Although the people of Clan Kagame and it’s soldiers were mentally exhausted of war, they had been mobilised once more, with self defence being the only reason for this.
The ongoing global war raged on. Clan Kagame had opted for neutrality, at least for now. Even Akane, the hotheaded Daimyo who lacked patience had the foresight to acknowledge that her clan was not ready for war just yet, although they were nearing that position. Perhaps it would take months? A little over a year? Nobody truly knew for sure.
All that was known is that one day, and soon, Clan Kagame would once again enter the horrors of war. This was a war where neutrality was not an option. Fortunately for her, Akane did not want to be neutral in the long run.
