Apparently you can light attack just out of range and he'll try to punish it and then you get a free heavy. I just found this out and have been farming him for effects.

He doesn't do it for me tbh
If you're too far back he'll parry the heavy, and you also have to wait for a reaction whether that be a light attack or you see his guard go up on that side.
Dang it. I wish I would've seen this earlier
