How many times can the same fanbase fall for the same trap?
A lot of times apparently.

My theory is that Vanny and Vanessa are two separate people.
To quote myself, "Just. Personal opinion, but I think that the whole 'is Vanessa the guard Vanny' thing is the exact same frame as 'is phone guy purple guy'.
Charaters share a common trait (name or knowledge) and the innocent one of the pair in each instance is 100% going to get mistaken for the killer at some point due to either their common factor or just an inability to distinguish between faces.
Not saying that Vanessa the guard = Vanny is not a possibility,
Just that it's unlikely and feels like Vanny is going try and frame and kill Vanessa."
Vanny is the woman from the FNAF AR emails and the person from curse of dreadbear who made the rabbit mask.
Vanessa is the security guard.
In the world of FNAF, this case of similar names is a coincidence, but my theory is that this was done on purpose so us as the fans would accuse the security guard for being the killer.
You know, this sound awfully familiar.
Like when people in the fandom accused Mike Schmidt of being the murderer.
And then when people in the fandom accused phone guy of being the murderer.
Didn't Jeremy and Fritz get accused too? Probably.
It feels awfully similar.
We have a night guard, and a killer, and due to a common factor (name or place of work or a slightly above average knowledge of Freddy's) the fandom accuses the guard of murder.
Now, time for the physical evidence:
I don't think that a potted plant would be included in the figure if they were the same person. The plant makes the sculpture an actual scene, and shows Vanessa hiding from Vanny. This could mean we're playing as Vanessa and trying to hide from Vanny as Vanny tries to kill and frame her.

The lack of description on what Vanessa is doing (the product description on the GameStop site that I cannot view for some reason. Probably because I'm British) is because she's already been mentioned: she's one of the potential victims that Vanny is hunting for.
Now some instances of multiple confirmed uses of the same name.
There are many individuals who have the same name in the world of FNAF.
A set of three Mike's/Michael's:
Mike Schmidt
Michael Brooks
Michael Afton
I feel that these are all three separate charaters. I feel like within the story, Michael Brooks was selected as a victim due to his resemblance to Williams own son, and Mike Schmidt just happened to get unlucky and look similar to Micheal, who in turn looks similar to William, leaving Mike on the receiving end of animatronic rage that shouldn't have been aimed at him.
A set of three Jeremy's:
Jeremy Fitzgerald
The Jeremy from FNAF help wanted
The dead kid Jeremy
Jeremy's seem to be less targeted, but more unfortunate really. A massive case of wrong place wrong time. The night guard working at the time that happened to be the same time where the animatronics facial recognition system has failed so badly they see all adults as the same criminal man, a kid that got lured away and killed, and an unlucky beta tester that whose face apparently got cut off.
Due to the presence of multiple characters already sharing the same name, it's not a stretch to say that this time it was done on purpose in order to get this exact response from us.
It's a coincidence, but a coincidence done on purpose.
In my opinion, Vanny and Vanessa were named the same in order to shift suspicion onto the security guard because when the fandom sees even the tiniest bit of evidence to say two people are the same person, they say they're the same person. It was an obvious trap set for us and we fell into it.
I feel like that within the game, Vanny will see a security guard with the same name as her and try to frame her. Or kill her. Or both.
