Summer Update: Phase III

Hush, I know it's hardly summer anymore but we fell a few weeks behind, a'ight?

.• New Guidelines •.

Back in June, the Mod Team brainstormed Guidelines we felt could use tweaking and tried to figure out how to fit these changes in.

As time ed I noticed our Guidelines were fairly vague for such an active (and rambunctious) Amino. So the Leaders and I spent three months reformatting and rewording the Guidelines.

Guys, I know it looks really scary, but we really only made a few changes. Just keep reading.

Formatting

The Guidelines have been formatted to reference certain rules easily. All Guidelines are numbered in a way that allows to easily find out why a post or chat was taken down. Instead of having to explain the rule, or having to scroll forever to locate where it says in the Guidelines, mods can now give the member the exact spot to find what they're looking for.

Besides being easier to locate, the Guidelines are now more specific--all of the rules not mentioned in this post were ALWAYS rules to begin with. Now the only difference is that they are all written in stone so no member can argue "Well the Guidelines don't say that anywhere!"

Right the Guidelines don't have any pretty artwork. Decorations will come later, but we wanted to get this new update out as soon as we could.

Content Warnings

Content Warnings are disclaimers put in blogs to warn people of sensitive content in the post. We added a new rule regarding false content warnings. Basically anything crying wolf that doesn't actually need a warning will be disabled for clickbait. To understand what qualifies as sensitive content that needs a warning, see Section 3.6 of the Guidelines.

Chat Rules

Chat Rules no longer HAVE to be "Guideline-pertaining". Chats however still must have five rules that help regulate chatroom behavior. This means specific roleplaying rules count toward your five rules.

Romance

We are reluctantly allowing romance roleplay in chatrooms. This includes fictional flirting, kissing, hugging, dating, etc. However, any indication the roleplay is leaning into suggestive, seductive, etc. will result in appropriate punishment. The Guidelines are a bit more specific about this, if you care to read more.

.• New Curators •.

oH MaN hEre TheY aRe

So before I say who got in, I'd like to explain the process we used this time around for applications.

We wanted to be THOROUGH this time. You can only learn so much about a person in a blogpost.

So this time around we used Google Forms and made the questions a bit tougher. Nobody was expected to know every answer to everything. But my God! Some of you guys answered those like you'd run your own Amino this size before. Makes me proud to see some are not just aware of the Guidelines, but are aware of what measures are appropriate to take in certain situations. That is key!

We had roughly 180-200 applications in total. Of those, 32 were decent enough to not be tossed.

I ed those 32 people on the same day (kms) all with varying automated messages.

Of the 32 who made it to callbacks, 16 were given final interviews. Those who were not interviewed were invited to the First Night Committee.

Of the 16 interviewees, 7 were selected to become our next wave of Curators. The rest were also invited to FNC.

Now the FNC has like 20 new which is awesome!

But now, we are happy to announce our newest mod team .

.• Animatronic of the Week •.

We feel on Amino it's important to also provide new motivations and new ways to earn prizes to our . We have big monthly challenges and our own "shop" with our own currency, but besides typical achievements to earn tickets, we don't have much to offer in of creative achievements. There are also some people who don't prefer to participate in the monthly challenges.

We'd like to introduce Animatronic of the Week, a weekly "prompt" we will be offering to hopefully motivate s to create more content. The concept is essentially--if you post something about the animatronic (or human character) chosen for that week, you could earn 10 tickets. You can only earn the tickets for that week once though, so no spamming the feeds >:U

More information about this will be posted by Overlooker once we are ready to launch. He has this big fancy calendar being worked on for it or something, idk.

• Future Update •

This concludes our big summer update. We hope the changes that we've made from June-September reflect the love, care, and effort we do put into this community. We want our to still find enjoyment and a reason to come back, in the midst of drama and change such a place can bring.

So what is left to do?

There are a few things we simply could not fit into the updates because of complications regarding artists and time management. Art can creating Amino themes can be tricky and sometimes finding the right artist can be difficult. Stuff happens and they might opt out too. Soooo the theme is planned to change sometime this year :) This is the theme y'all voted on awhile ago so no worries about "OhH GoLLy HoPe iT aiNt BiG UGLy"

Besides that bigger update, we'll be working hard to create the Guideline Encyclopedia which will be replacing the current Guide to the Guidelines, which if you didn't know, is extremely outdated.

We of course will be announcing AotW (like I explained above). We'll also be making an announcement about Tape Girl, a new staff to help with managing Wiki Submissions. She's Mr. Amino's younger sister. u_u

Mm, what else?

I'm not sure there's anything left to talk about that isn't a surprise I wouldn't want to spoil.

But yeah...
