He isn't Proud [Challenge Entry/Poetry]

Heyyo muffins, Liz here and back with a new entry to the #OpenMicNightChallenge along with an art to go with it. I for one love this challenge, and I'm really happy to be able to participate in a a poetry challenge such as this one. I would like to state that the artwork used in this post's background is called "Pretend" by ukalayla on Deviantart! I recommend you check her out in this link right here! She is an amazing artist and deserves a look at!

Now, without further-ado, I present to you "He isn't Proud".

He isn't Proud.

Daddy told me

deep underground

to not be around

that metal monstrosity.

And now I'm burning,

from both rage and the flames

that neglect to numb the pain

Of the loss that holds me here.

In here...

Oh, in here!

Where the shadows lurk,

and the demons they torture,

with the anger they adhere!

As the end grows near,

know that I don't feel fear,

as I am just a machine,

that doesn't feel anything...

right?

Henry recorded those tapes,

In order to display,

the angered mismay

and disapproval of

what Daddy did that day!

And while the dusk provokes

angry animals,

Who house our broken souls,

and keep us caged...
