Monday evening came, and Red walked back in with the dragon squad. Red and Tiki were walking side by side, with a paper in Red's hand that said "DEMOTION" in big letters.

"But we did everything right! We had a flawless run!" said Tiki.

"We had a fell dragon on our side." muttered Robin. "How? Do I need to kill more?"

"Now, now. It will be okay. We'll take this week to train up since Tier 18 is cake. It'll be okay." said Red.

"I hope so." said Tiki in an endearing voice. This troubled Red very much.

"Anyways, will we be strategizing again, tonight?" said Ninian.

"Not tonight." said Red. "Enjoy a day off."

"Awesome!" said Myrrh. "I have just the idea!" As Myrrh always did, she flew off before anyone responded. Very quickly, she found Genny and the dancer talking.

"Guess what? I got tonight off!!!" said Myrrh. "Wanna go out to eat again?"

"Sure." said the dancer. "But we need Eirika for that." Genny's stomach dropped at the mention of the name Eirika, given their previous encounter.

"Okay, I'll go find her!" said Myrrh, who took off in a flash. Genny held her hand out, as if to say "Don't!", but it was too late.

"Is...something the matter, Genny?" asked a confused dancer.

"Eirika isn't in the best mood right now...." said Genny. "I don't think this will go well..."

Myrrh was flying around in her typical fashion: with reckless abandon. The first place to search for her was obviously the library, since that's where she spent most of her free time. Luckily, Myrrh knew the place very well, so it was a quick flight. With grace, she landed at the doors and walked in quietly, respecting the library's quiet atmosphere. Typically, Eirika sat at the same table, but she wasn't there. Myrrh saw Linde and decided to ask her instead.

"Hey, Linde. Have you seen Eirika today?" Myrrh asked.

"She was here earlier, but left about a half hour ago. She was really upset the entire time, and mentioned something about being useless when she was talking to herself." said Linde. This gave Myrrh shock.

"Is...she okay?" said Myrrh.

"I'm not sure, but please let me know if you find her, okay?" said Linde.

"I will." said Myrrh, who proceeded to walk out of the library and take flight. She decided to check her room next. A quick flight led Myrrh right to her hallway. As Myrrh approached the closed door, she heard audible sobs. It was Eirika!

"Don't even need me around here, I know how it is. I'm just a bonus, I'm pretty sure. Red didn't even want me. Doesn't even matter if I'm pretty if I can't even do anything. All my friends are cool, but I'm just a loser who spends all their time reading." Eirika started sobbing again. Myrrh was seriously worried and decided to crack open the door to see if she was okay.

"Eirika?" Myrrh said lightly.

"And THERE'S THE GIRL RED ACTUALLY WANTED! NO, RED WASN'T SUMMONING FOR ME. HE WAS SUMMONING FOR YOU! WHY AM I EVEN HERE IF ALL RED WANTED WAS YOU?" Eirika's face landed in her pillow and she started crying again. "GET OUT!" Eirika screamed in a muffled tone. This gave Myrrh further shock. Never before had she closed a door so fast in her life.

As Myrrh flew to the end of the hall, she was met by Genny and the dancer. "You didn't do anything wrong." said the dancer. "Let's save this for tomorrow."

Tuesday afternoon, the start of a new arena season. Red was out once again with the dragon squad to reclaim his spot in tier 19. Myrrh was with them. The dancer and Genny were out doing chain challenges. Eirika was...not doing anything of value. It was another bright day, so Eirika was outside again. As soon as Eirika was over the hill and out of sight, she let out a sigh of relief, which was immediately followed by seeing someone stole her spot. It was Julia! Eirika went over to her that instant.

"Why are you in my spot?" asked Eirika.

"The weather....is nice today." said Julia. Eirika realized it was pointless fighting her, so she took a seat next to Julia. "I overheard your yelling yesterday. I came to quell your sorrows."

Eirika sat down, puzzled. "How do you know about all this? How do you plan on helping?"

"By telling you...my story." said Julia. "It all began at the mage gauntlet, a very...long time ago. Red was summoning for Linde on the banner. And when he summoned me instead..." said Julia. Her voice trailed off. "I assume you are familiar with pity rates." Eirika immediately understood.

"Did he call you...."

"Yes. A pity breaker." replied Julia. "It was upsetting. But I went...and showed him. I trained with Linde, and we became good friends. She was...very gentle and soft spoken. But it wasn't long before Red started using me more than her. I was really confused....but...it didn't seem to bother her. She was really happy for me." Eirika started to smile....

"So, I guess you and I are alike." replied Eirika.

"Yes." said Julia. "I have...more arena time than Linde. We each have our own strengths. The point is....is that you're valuable, Eiri-" Julia was cut off mid sentence as Eirika wrapped her arms around her.

"You're the best person ever!" said Eirika. She might not be on any teams, but she'd come upon a lovely realization: people still love her for who she is. She took off excitedly towards the barracks. Julia resumed relaxing on the hill.

Eirika bust open the doors to the back, happily strolling through the castle. She felt great! Right in her line of sight were Genny and the dancer, done with chain challenges early. Genny was especially caught off guard.

"I have so much to talk about and so much to do!" said Eirika. "Wanna tag along then go to dinner tonight?"

"Sure, I'll come take a look." replied the dancer. "How about you, Genny?"

"No thank you. There is something I need to do." replied Genny.

"Well, suit yourself." replied the dancer. Eirika grabbed her by the hand and ran off in excitement. Genny disregarded it and went out back. She went a little ways to see Julia sitting in her spot. Julia looked back and shot Genny a smile.

"Thank you again, Julia."

The four were once again out to eat, celebrating a good day all around.

"We already got our win streak!" said Myrrh. "There's no way we won't get back to tier 19!"

"That's awesome to hear! said Eirika. "How are the chain challenges going, you two?"

"We're chipping away at the hard ones. It's mostly just tedium." replied the dancer.

"But we have a huge mountain of hero feathers for Red to use! They give out so many of those!" said Genny. "But enough . How was your day, Eirika?"

"Well, I spent today chatting with people around the castle. A lot of them are so nice, and I'm glad I get to be surrounded by so many wonderful people." Eirika said in her cheerful tone. Genny smiled knowingly. She was just happy that Eirika was feeling great.
