Good evening FFA,
This has been a topic that unfortunately has popped up way too many times to count.
What is Ban Avoidance and Strike Avoidance?
Ban avoidance and strike avoidance are the actions of creating new s in order to avoid waiting out the timer on a strike or in order to return to an individual amino or amino in general as a result of a ban.
In regards to strikes....
All strikes, both Team Amino given and Leader given have a set time. A strike will automatically mute a for a set period of time ranging from 1 hour to 24 hours.
Team Amino does not explain the reasoning behind strikes, it only tells us the who was striked.
We cannot undo Team Amino actions.
Creating a new to avoid a strike is not allowed. If you are caught doing so, the that you created will also be striked.
Strikes are only up to 24 hours. You will live. I promise.
In regards to Team Amino bans....
Bans issued by Team Amino are permanent. We cannot undo Team Amino bans, nor does it tell us why Team Amino banned the in question, we only see the was banned by Team Amino. In order to appeal a team amino ban, you will need to email them.
That being said, in the instance a is banned by Team Amino and creates a new , it depends on the ’s behavior and their actions leading up to that ban. Even though we are not able to see WHY Team Amino banned a , if that has a multitude of strikes and mutes from us, we will not allow the creation of a new .
If the ban was done during a known buggy period of amino bot going crazy, that’s fine.
We usually can tell when amino bot goes crazy because a bunch of Team Amino actions will appear in the moderation log, but keep in mind, this does not happen often anymore.
In regards to bans issued by a Leader....
We have a ban appeal form for a reason. If you are banned and you feel you deserve to come back, fill out that form. We look into every case and make our decision based off of that.
Leaders ban people for the better of the amino. This includes new , old and staff , not out of personal vendettas.
This means, no. Contrary to popular belief by those who have been banned, We don’t hate you. It’s not that deep to us. Our job is to make this amino safe for every single person who s, endangering or harassing s or becoming a repeated nuisance with multiple flags and reports is how s get banned.
That being said, if you are caught avoiding your ban, you will be rebanned once again. If you want to re the amino, you need to fill out the ban appeal form just like everyone else.
If you are repeatedly caught ban avoiding, this lessens your chances that your ban appeal will be approved.
Important notes:
•Curators do not hold control over the following: Strikes, Formal Warnings, Bans. All curators report to leaders, this means, eventually the conversation will end up in a leader’s lap. Leaders are the ones with the ability to unban, review strikes, formal warnings. This will ensure your requests and questions are done in a timely manner.
•What curators DO hold control over is public chat matters, blog issues, wiki concerns and things of that nature. This means, curators are usually swamped dealing with those issues. What this can mean is your concerns with bans and strikes can be bogged down. To combat that this, it is highly recommended and encouraged to reach out directly to a leader.
Please do not comment situations involving strikes and bans below, It is encouraged that you PM your comments and concerns. Thank you for your compliance.
