Dissidia NT DLC References

To those who do not know, Dissidia NT's DLC reveal trailers always include a reference to their base game before showing the character as a nice little hint to who it is prior to being shown. This post will explain every single one!

DLC 1: Vayne Carudas Solidor - FFXII

The opening to this one has Vayne standing atop the streets of Rabanastre before the Palace while the sky is lit up orange.

The first reference is where Vayne is standing. This is the same spot where Vayne stands early in FFXII, when he addresses the people of Rabanastre after his arrival and becoming Consul.

The second major reference is in Rabanastre itself, being the orange lit sky. That would be referencing the Sky Fortress Bahamut section of FFXII towards the end, which was operated by Vayne.

Locke Cole - FFVI

The opening has Terra unconscious in the snows of Narshe, before three Moogles show up followed by Locke.

The first reference is Unconscious Terra in Narshe, which happens incredibly early into FFVI before Locke is introduced.

The second reference would be the Moogles helping Locke protect Terra. While there's only three in the picture, your first party (Locke's Party) will contain Locke and 3 other Moogles, matching the four that protect Terra.

The third reference would be Locke diving in to the scene, which would poke at the small moment when Locke jumps from above to land by Terra.

Also, the song used is Protect the Espers, and Terra is an Esperkin.

Rinoa Heartilly - FFVIII

Rinoa's opening shows us the Promised Place in it's cracked form before sprouting into flows, with Rinoa standing with the feather in her hand.

There's only one real reference here, and that is the entire trailer referencing the famous Liberi Fatali FMV that plays at the beginning of FFVIII.

Kam'Lanaut - FFXI

The opening shows us Stellar Fulcrum, with Kam'Lanaut stepping onto the peak before using magic to descend below into the light, emerging in his armoured form. (I didn't play FFXI, sorry if I got anything wrong)

The reference is Kam'Lanaut standing atop the Fulcrum, which appears in the Rise of the Zilart expansion prior to his boss fight.

Yuna - FFX

The opening here shows Yuna walking on the water's of Besaid, lifting her staff to summon Valefor to her aid

The first reference would be Besaid in it's Pyreflies form, being a reference to an incredibly famous FFX scene when Yuna performs the Sending.

The second reference would be Yuna summoning Valefor, her first Aeon in FFX and the most important in regards to story impact.

Snow Villiers - FFXIII

The opening shows Snow surrounded by Chaos before absorbing it into his l'Cie brand, coming out as a Cie'th.

The reference is the overwhelming field of chaos, which is what Snow stores in his room in Yusnaan in Lightning Returns, that turns him into a Cie'th

Zenos yae Galvus - FFXIV

The opening has us in the Final Battlefield of NT, with Y'shtola defeated on the ground as Zenos towers over her.

The first reference is the stage pick. Final Battlefield is where we fight Shinryu as the final boss of NT. In Stormblood, Zenos takes Shinryu's form and plays the final boss.

The second reference is Y'shtola on the ground. This is a reference to the Rhalgr's Reach Zenos fight, where he almost kills Y'shtola prior to the WOL battling him.
