Backstory: Nova was born and raised in Gongaga where she grew up close to Zack. Once she was old enough she ed Shinra as a SOLDIER alongside Zack. Just like Zack had Angeal as his mentor, she had Genesis as hers. While at SOLDIER Hojo took a liking to her and experimented on her on countless occasions. She only agree because she was scared of what would happen if she didn’t comply. In these experiments she was given Jenova cells, which gave her a black wing over her left shoulder like Genesis, and Sephiroths cells, to make sure she doesn’t degrade like Genesis and Angeal did. During her time as SOLDIER she took a liking to the Turks. She grew close to Reno and Rude, and even Tseng to a certain extent. Thanks to them she was kept up to date on the treatment of not only the Turks, but everyone in the company in general. She slowly grew resentment towards the company and its president, however, considering it’s all she knew and all her friends were there, she decided not to leave, besides, it’s extremely difficult if not impossible due to the company wanting to keep everything secret. When Genesis deserts Shinra, she’s torn between following her mentor and staying. Ultimately, she reluctantly stays. In their time together at Shinra, Nova found herself falling in love with Zack. After being experimented on for four more years and once they break free, while Zack and Cloud go to flee to Midgar, Nova stays, insisting it’s where she belongs. She heads back to Shinra and tells the Turks about Zack and Cloud as her and the Turks race against the clock to get to them before the rest of Shinra can. Eventually she finds out about Zacks death and she’s devastated, hoping Cloud is alive out there somewhere. She stays at Shinra and becomes a Turk alongside Reno, Rude, and Tseng. She starts and continues to search for her old mentor, Genesis, knowing he’s still alive out there somewhere.

Relationships:

Angeal- good friends, saw him a lot thanks to her having a fellow 1st class mentor and the fact that he was Zacks mentor and sometimes Genesis and Angeal would train them together.

Genesis- Very close, he was like a father figure to her. In his free time, if he wasn’t with Angeal or Sephiroth, he’d be reading LOVELESS and Nova would sit next to him, listening to him. Sometimes they just like to be in each others company/presence. Nova tends to be quiet and reserved, at times Genesis is this way too, especially when he’s reading so they get along even better. Thanks to Genesis she got a copy of LOVELESS and she read it and got into it too. Just like Zacks nickname is Zack the Puppy, hers is Nova the Kitten, Genesis was the one to come up with this. He also calls her little flame, however this is something only he calls her, unlike her other nickname. Besides from sword training, and many other things, she learned how to use fire materia from him as well.

Sephiroth- Good friends, she saw him a lot since Genesis is her mentor. They got even closer after the desertion of Genesis and Angeal. She did everything in her power to save him but couldn’t, and she wishes she could’ve done more. Even as a Turk she’s constantly trying to think of a way to save him.

Zack- Best friends, Zack and her grew up as childhood friends. They do everything together, even though their personalities are so different. While Zack is energetic, hyper, and loud at times, Nova is more quiet and reserved. Sometimes Genesis and Angeal would train them together. She found herself falling in love with him as time went on. His kindness, comion, and the love he had for his friends, plus so many other things made her fall in love with him.

Cloud- Good friends, she met Cloud when Zack did, they got along well and she really liked him.

Reno- Her closest friend in the Turks, they get along really well. After Zacks death she ed the Turks and they became closer. It took some time but she found herself falling for him.

Rude- Good friends and work partners, once a part of the Turks, Nova was assigned to a partnership with Rude and Reno. They have a good professional relationship, and outside of work as well they maintain a good friendship.

Tseng- Good professional relationship but also good friends. Although Tseng is a very serious man who prefers to keep his feelings to himself, he’s grown fond of her and will get concerned if she gets hurt, even if he doesn’t show it. Just like the other Turks, he cares for her.

Rufus- Just like the other Turks she has a good professional relationship with him. Nova had always liked him more than his father so when he got killed by Sephiroth, she knew things were looking up. She has a deep respect for him as President and is completely loyal to him just as much as she is to Tseng and the Turks. Rufus appreciates the loyalty and can’t deny he’s slowly starting to grow fond of her, especially after seeing how she is with the other Turks. He has a lot of trust in Tseng, and that’s clear, however, he’s also starting to slowly open up to other people including her.
