OP oc’s

This is a pretty new Amino and this subject is bound to come up at some point, so I might as well make it now. Op (over powered) characters are a pain.

PLEASE DO NOT CREATE INSANELY STRONG OC’S!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What makes a character op? Here’s a list of a few things:
- Nothing and nobody can kill them.
- They have a few weaknesses that are hard and/or near impossible for others to use against them at any time.
- No one can touch them, they dodge every single attack, and can always hit their role play partners with no problem.
- They are insanely strong, fast, etc
- Knowing things they shouldn’t. Ex. Things your rp partner has told you ahead of time or it’s in their characters wiki but it’s supposed to be a secret.
You can have a powerful oc without being op.
You can make them powerful but not op by:
- They can be killed.
- They have multiple weaknesses and a big main weakness.
- They can’t block attacks 100% of the time. Even professional fighters are bound to get hit at some point.
- They can be fast, strong, and smart, but not to the point where they are pretty much exactly like God himself. It’s not fun for all your rp partners.
- They’re not completely unbeatable.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

There’s more to add to all those lists, but you hopefully get the idea. It can become agitating very, very quickly when you have a normal oc against someone’s op oc. It sucks all the fun out of the role play, trust me. I’m not a leader or curator in here, but I am both a leader and curator it other rp Aminos. So my leader instincts are coming out O^O. I just want to make sure it’s clear that overpowered oc’s may be fun for YOU to use, but not always fun for your partner.

It also can be RUDE. Yes, you heard me. Rude. Being op and not giving your partner a chance at anything just flat out sucks! Obviously if it’s a huge monster against a human that allows a little more wiggle room for being much stronger, faster, landing more blows, etc. When you beat the crap out of your rp partner and just refuse to die, not allow them to shoot you, punch you, kick you, and always block their spells gets really old after a while.

Now, what do you do when you encounter an op oc while role playing? Talk to your partner about it if you don’t like it. If they refuse to change you can just leave the chat. There’s no shame in doing so. If problems arise or persist, a leader or curator and let them set things straight.

Before you jump all over me, IF you have god/goddess oc’s, please don’t use them too often. Unless you’re not going to be rude about it and not give the non-op characters a chance against you. This was a long post, I am sorry. Again, I’m not a leader or curator, but I wanted to speak my mind.

Peace out :v: and rock on🤘
