↬King Midas was a man filled with nothing besides greed. He craved jewels, people, power, and everything he could get his hands on. He never had any interest in his daughter, though. She was in his eyes a defective product because she had a problem with using a lot of mana since a young age. This made her unable to properly control the metallic magic that Midas mastered. Her mother was originally a foreign princess until Midas destroyed the kingdom and took her as his queen. She didn't have any love for him, but she had her own ambitions. Isadoras' mother had hoped for a son, but she gave birth to a girl instead. She had lots of expectations for her daughter, but after realizing she couldn't even properly utilize Midas' magic, she decided that it would be better to have another child and give up on her daughter. Isadora didn't receive any form of affection from any of the servants in the palace either, though. They weren't especially rude to her, but they simply followed their requirements and never so much as said a word to her unless she engaged in conversation first. Isadora didn't crave parental love or acknowledgment from the servants, though. She had no love for her parents, and she believed her servants to be subhuman beings that deserved no respect. To her, the world seemed dull, and Isadora would start to relish in riches, but she soon realized that money wasn't enough to satisfy her. She knew that she craved something much more important, authority. She wanted to be feared and respected like her father. Isadora was quite intelligent and capable of handling the flow of mana. The only issue was her body, which seemed to struggle with handling large amounts of it for some reason. Isadora decided that she'd learn rune magic to make up for this weakness. Few learn rune magic since it takes a lot more knowledge compared to other forms of magic and less skilled magic s struggle to form the runes and imbue them with mana quickly enough. There are, of course, benefits as well, though. Rune magic requires much less mana for a spell of the same efficiency, lasts longer, and can use mana besides that within the casters' bodies. Isadora quickly became proficient in this form of magic, and after that, she became increasingly brutal to the servants within the palace. Neither of her parents cared since to them, the servants were replaceable. This sense of superiority and control over others' lives finally made Isadora feel like she was alive. This went on until Isadora met Alcaster Melvanore. Alcaster was the only son of Duke Melvanore as well as a high-ranking knight within King Midas' golden order. The Melvanore family had served under King Midas for generations. As soon as she laid her eyes on him, she was absolutely entranced. She wasn't exactly sure of the reason. He was a good-looking and charismatic man, but she'd seen men that looked heavenly and felt nothing for them. Either way, when she looked at him, she felt something strange. Isadoras' desire to be with Alcaster gradually increased, and with time, she'd butter up Duke Melvanore so that he'd give his son to her. Her parents didn't favor her, but she was still a princess, and even without Midas' signature magic style, she'd become a powerful of rune magic. Duke Melvanore was also desperate to marry his son off since unsavory rumors started spreading. Eventually, with the of Duke Melvanore, she'd become engaged with Alcaster. He wasn't especially pleased with this, but he didn't have the authority to refuse her or his father. Alcaster was kind to Isadora, and the two of them would engage in conversation, but he never seemed to take any enjoyment in it. As they grew closer to being married, Isadora would also meet Vincent Lancaster, a young count from a wealthy family as well as a childhood friend of Alcaster. Vincent had a sort of angelic beauty that completely put Isadora to shame. She was, of course, a beauty in her own right, but she wasn't on the same level. Vincent was a playful guy, but he was sweet and seemed to take a liking to Isadora.

The two of them developed a sort of friendship. Isadora was initially annoyed by him, but she thought of him as an extension of Alcaster and a good way to learn more about him so the two would with time form a friendship. Later on, Isadora was formally married to Alcaster and became Isadora Melvanore. Some years later, Duke Melvanore would die, which made her the duchess and her husband the duke. In name, Alcaster had the authority, but in reality, he left everything to Isadora. She ran the household and the affairs within it. Eventually, things would come crumbling down for Isadora, though. She'd been outside the duchy on a mission assigned to her by King Midas but finished early and returned. She had prepared a gift for Alcaster but when she neared his room she heard strange groaning. She felt an incredible rage burning in her, but she needed to see what exactly was happening and what woman dared to touch her husband. Her eyes peered through the door utilizing a rune, and Isadora was instantly shocked. Alcaster wasn't with a woman at all. He was engaging in intercouse with his friend Vincent, and to make it worse, he was on the receiving end. Alcaster had a look of pure joy on his face that he'd never shown when she performed intercourse with him. Isadora was shocked, embarrassed, and enraged. She wanted to break down the door and strangle the both of them, but she knew that wouldn't be satisfying enough. Isadora plotted for a month on exactly how she'd torture the two of them, but that would all be for naught. The two of them would die in some sort of tragic accident. The suspicious thing about this accident was that assasins tried to kill Isadora that very same day. Isadora easily defeated her assailants, but they consumed poison before she had the chance to obtain any information out of them. Isadora became full of rage by the fact that she couldn't obtain her perfect revenge and decided that she'd take vengeance on whoever killed them. Soon after her husbands death, Isadora gave birth to her son. At first, Isadora felt like she didn't have anyone besides her child and thought that perhaps she could grow to love him. As he grew older, he started to look more and more like his father, though. Little things like the way he'd laugh reminded her of her dead husband and filled her with unquenchable anger. Eventually, Isadora started to treat her son with cruelty, and even as he grew older, she gave him no authority and barely any funds. Isadora grew obsessed with holding authority and gave up on forming relationships with anyone. Instead, she simply wished to hold onto her authority and kill those who took away her opportunity for revenge.
