It was another day by the river. As always, a beutiful day to ride along the shallow stream. Mother always warned me about riding off on my own, how it was too dangerous for a girl to be out on her own anymore and today of all days was the day I should have listened. Today of all days, I should have turned my horse around and rode back home at the sight of your body dragging itself accross the pebbled shallows.

But here I am, sliding from my horses back and to your side. You skin was a tapestry of untold stories and your hair threatened to hide you in the darkest pools of the river. Leaving you lost among the river oaks roots and hidden from the sun.

When you lifted your chin when I offered you help, there was so much confusion and fear, I almost didn't know if you understood a word I said or even what I held my hand out for. I don't what happened after those tearful blue eyes drowned me in your sorrow, your tongue speaking a whole new world once I wiped away one of the tears that spilled from your eyes. I do waking up breathless, soaked, and without my horse.

Those tear filled eyes stained my mind and froze my heart. Not even the stars above compared to the shining depths of untold stories that danced across your eyes for the last time. The last time I saw you, you didnt have the four hooves and a memory, but I had mine and it keeps wandering over to what my mother told me.

Do not ever wipe the tears of strange men, do not ever ride the backs of strange horses you do not know. Do not swim farther then you dare.

But those eyes, just that glimpse of the unknown, made me want to do all those things, all of it except drown in those lost tears once more.

HELLO! So, I had this random brain fart the other day.. and I have mixed feeling about romanticizing drowning.. anyway~ I hope you guys enjoyed this lil' shortie and maybe...I shall have some fancy art for this soon if I get this backup thing to work.
