As writers, we often come across areas that need expanding or situations that often need more detail to "fill in the plot holes." I understand not everyone is perfect at executing such feats, but with the sudden surge and use of AI platforms to fill in those weaknesses, I must ask, though DISCLAIMER: I have never used Ai to create the world of my personal story, but if the need to use it would arise, I need to be absolutely sure, "IF a writer were to be caught in a Writer's Block correlating to details or plot devices in their story, would it still be considered Plagiarism if one were to ask AI to help navigate the Writers Block and give them hints or clues to get their writing back on track using their own ideas?
(Feel free to vote, share your opinion, or just scroll on through. I've had discussions about this with a friend of mine, but none of us were able to come to an agreement or argument. Also, FYI:: Not a native English speaker BTW xD)

There are different degrees, but yes. For simple things like naming things, you can by just fine, asking questions about something, okay. I personally use it for generating exercises and practice for subjects I am learning.
Ultimately, however, one must acknowledge that these things aren't coming from you or the AI itself but actual people of which AI is taking it from and remixing it into something else.
Does this make you a bad person? No. Does it make it plagerism? I say it probably does.
This is a nuanced thing, for art and writing yes, but for advice and tips? No
Still AI is not art, art comes from the person
Ah, I voted yes immediately, but then I saw your question. That actually depends.
Are you asking AI for *meta advice* or *ideas*? That's where the distinction lies.
Because of how AI works, it cannot have an original idea, it just recycles the content it aspirates. If you need a new plot point, then that would essentially be plagiarism, considering AI would feed you something someone else made.
However, if you were to ask AI for structural tips for example, it's different.
Either way, for me, not only is it ethically iffy, but most importantly, I find that AI is really shit at giving good writing advice!
I've gotten way better writing advice going to r/writing, honestly.
Very nuanced question since it depends on what exactly they’re using it for. If you’re simply using AI for things like figuring out new names for races in your world based off the information you feed the AI on said races. But if it’s for outright creating whole plot points and storylines, that’s when it gets very iffy. AI has been villainized a lot in recent years (for good reason), however it’s important to understand that first and foremost, AI is a tool meant to be utilized, and has been utilized for a long time in things like video games, for example.
Really, just make sure you’re not solely relying on AI for major parts and you’re actively using your own original material to help the AI not get confused. Ask the AI to come up with a fantasy race and it might pull something already made. Ask the AI to come up with a fantasy race based on a list of unique characteristics and names you already made and you’re in a much better place. This is just my opinion obviously, but I think it’s okay to use it, as long as it’s used responsibly and with common sense.
I think that it depends but mostly yes. Why not asking an actual human?
I've asked several. Some couldn't really touch down on it, and many had different views or none about it at all. Just wanted to see if there were opinions about it here since I'm online a lot in this community lol
