second lesson summary for DADA.

Boggarts

What is a boggart?

A boggart is an amortal creature that

can shape shift. It turns into the fear

of people. No one knows what a boggart

looks like since it's constantly changing

it's form. While boggarts are scary there

is a charm that can be used against them.

Riddikulus

Riddikulus is the charm that is used

against boggarts. This charm is used

to change the boggarts form into some-

thing ridiculous. Essentially Riddikulus

turns fear into laughter.

Famous Boggart encounters

First famous encounter

The boggart was known as the

Bludgeoning Boggart of Old London.

It took the form of a murderous thug

that roamed the back streets of London.

Second famous encounter

It was a Scottish boggart known as

The Screaming Bogey. It would feed

onto the fears of local muggles. One

day it was caught in a match box by

the ministry worker Lyall Lupin.
