Lana’s Combat System

This is in my rules template, but I’m posting this in a blog to share with the people giving since a combat system was mentioned. Several groups here have adopted it and they like it so far.

Combat Rules

- The combat rules apply to both NPCs and other people's characters. If you fight at all, you follow these.

- You’re going to lose some fights. Get used to it. We won't have people pulling a bunch of op bullshit just so they can win.

- Stats don't play much of a role here. Your roleplaying skills carry your weight in combat, not the numbers on your character sheet.

- In your first attack post, you have to name the weapons your character carries. They are all you can use in the fight. You cannot find weapons on the battleground unless another player previously discarded it, and you cannot decide in ooc chat that another character left it in order to give your friends an advantage.

- You can go up to three turns without taking a hit, IF it can be done realistically. After that, you have to take the next hit.

- You can't take a hit and act like nothing happened. Injuries affect people. They affect your characters too. to factor in blood loss.

- You cannot auto hit at any time.

- When you attack, you have to provide a vivid description of what your attack is. Be specific, or you're gonna be vulnerable.

- Be realistic with your attacks. If you can't logically pull it off, you can't do it. You can't dodge bullets, can't keep going as usual with multiple chest wounds, can't spot a sniper who's spent his whole life training and learning to hide effectively (unless he's in somewhere like the middle of the street or something), can't shoot somebody from a mile away with a shotgun, and your character cannot clear a whole raider group or a bunch of super mutants single handedly.

- If you don't specify something in your post, it can be set so by your opponent. (Ex. A sniper doesn't factor in the wind for their shot. Their opponent can claim the wind alters the bullet's path just enough to miss, which alerts their character to the sniper's presence. OR, if you simply say "My character shoots at X's character," then X can decide where he or she is hit, IF it hits at all. Be as specific as possible with attacks, preferably without posting a wall of text. The real is (INSERT REAL HERE). This is to ensure that you read the combat rules.)

Ohhh, this is the good shit. :kissing_closed_eyes: Anything that puts your rp chops over numbers is my go-to by default.

Same! I’ve never been one for stats and dice rolls. I tried out T1 for a while but dropped it pretty quick. This was based off of some basics I picked up there.
