Young is a single sung by

our Vocal King Baekhyun

and rap master LOCO. This

song is perfect in each way.

The lyrics are really relatable

and relevant to the modern

time, and have a deep impact

on us. The song showcases

the urge and want to always

remain young, and that is

really inspiring.

It's my jam, and you should

listen to it too! Station songs

deserve more recognition.

especially love beginning

when the song starts off

incredibly strong with Baek’s ooh’s.

More importantly, the song

carries a strong energy for

the whole song.

The collab itself is great,

Loco’s rap truly complements

Baekhyun’s vocals.

The song is trying to tell the

listener to be their own person

and make their own decisions.

Don’t follow the crowd and

stand out.Don’t pretend to like

stuff everyone else does so can

be like them and to fit in.

You’re still young and so do what

makes you happy rather than

doing what you’re told. Don’t be

a robot like everyone, don’t follow

them and be the same. Be your own

person. To match the meaning of

the song the MV has a bunch of

repetition and many people doing

the same thing as one another.

Young is pretty much one

of the underrated songs.

I love how Baekhyun and

Loco blend with each other

perfectly! The lyrics are

meaningful too, and how

society can take much

ownership of a youth and

it inspired me a lot too.

It's such a bop and the

song is amazing. One more

thing, SM station songs are

the best, they need more

recognition like this one.

I don’t really have much

opinions about Young,

although it was a song

that I could easily bop to,

I never really had the motivation

to actually listen to it often.

I’m more into ballads nowadays,

however it was still a song

that I did replay for an hour or so.

Young is one of the most

interesting lyric works of SM.

Not only it establishes the

media as the root of societal

alienation, one that sets the

standard of behavior and limits

individual thoughts; it also

challenges the listener to come

out of the box they've been

shaped to fit by the society's

expectations. Youth, in this

context, appears as a metaphor

to uniqueness, strength, and

fearlessness, defining traits to

keep during a time in which

media seems to get more and

more power over society and

this is especially true in

South Korea, where academic

pressure pushes many young

students into drastic measures,

such as suicide.

That makes Young one - if not the

- of my favorite songs out of the

EXO contributions to SM Station,

and this preference is also

influenced by LOCO's partnership

with the company for this project.
