UPDATED - Full Transparency - What has happened on Ea the last 24 hours

Hi everyone. You have probably noticed a lot of changes on EA and I´m going to try my best to explain what is going on.

Yesterday at around midnight for me, I received a PM from a community member who was confused that they were made leader of EA. I was confused as well but couldn't do anything about it since they were made agent leader, meaning that they are the ones who can promote and demote curators and leaders.

I was later informed that amino has a system in place where if the moderation staff has been inactive for a while, they automatically transfer the leader status to someone else.

Now how does this make sense? Well, I havent been able to get in with the two people who were curators for a while. I have kept them as such because I would really like to avoid kicking them without getting in .

As for myself, I haven't spent much time on EA as I used to since the community has slowed down and the moderation therefore hasn't taken a lot of time. But I have been coming here to feature blogs when there has been something new in the #FeatureThis tag and I have been checking the latest feed for content that needs removing. I have however not been chacking in. Personally, I´m not a fan of that feature since it is very obviously a method for Team Amino to make their platform more addictive and I did not want to buy into that. If I had known that checking in was a requirement for a leader, I would of course have done so and I'm truly sorry but I really was not aware.

But after getting in with the person who was made agent leader, they said that they would simply transfer the role back. They told me that their wifi was bad and that they needed to get home before they could do anything. After a few hours, they texted me again, saying that they had changed their mind and that they wanted to lead anyway. I pointed out how that was not normally how we do things here (we recruit people as curators and after some time they can become leaders). After I said this, they quickly threw me out as leader and now I have no moderation status whatsoever.

Later, I see that they have transferred the leader role to someone else who had apparently been messaging them saying that they could do this. This individual has only been on EA for a few days so I´m not sure what to make of this. They have already changed a bunch of things in the community and I don't think they have made an effort to the rest of team ea.

After the original version of this post went up, the new leaders seemed to change their minds quickly and they gave me back the role as agent leader. I'm not sure exactly what happened there but things should be back to normal now.
