The boys's laughter was loud and clear in Kim Jongin's math classroom. He was getting irked by the disturbing loud noises the so called popular boys were making and he huffed quietly as he turned around to glare at them. The boys were standing near his desk which was at the very back of the classroom and he hated the fact that they had to be so close to him. They could have dropped their lame jokes at the front of the class, why bother Jongin?

"Keep those loud mouths of yours shut before I make you regret it." - Jongin's cold and deadly stare made the boys quiet in an instant and they sat down noiselessly. Jongin's mind was finally at peace and he noticed how not just the boys but the whole class went silent.

Kim Jongin was the most feared student in his high school. He at first couldn't figure out why everyone was terrified of him when all he did was mind his own business quietly while giving some toxic glares here and there to some bratty classmates. Yes, he did get into many fights, leaving his opponent with a damaged face but that couldn't be the only reason. Jongin was never really bothered to think any further about that since he concluded that there are always people who spread false rumours and make him sound like a criminal. Only idiots believe in rumours and he knew for a fact that nearly the entire school is filled with idiots.

Nearly.

Just seconds after Jongin's sudden outburst, the student council, Do Kyungsoo and his group of friends came and took their seats. Kyungsoo had a warm smile on his face as he spoke to his best friend for many years now, Kim Junmyeon. Jongin was looking closely at him with an emotionless face, not wanting anyone to catch him staring at the beloved student council.

Everyone ired and respected Do Kyungsoo. He was a smart and very kind person who was willing to help anyone, no matter who they were. Jongin and Kyungsoo shared a secret friendship in which Kyungsoo would calm Jongin down after any of his fights and give him a small lecture followed by a hug and sometimes a kiss on the cheek. Of course, Kyungsoo's friends didn't like Jongin but that didn't bother the sunkissed male - as long as he had Kyungsoo as his friend and someone who he can rely on, there was no need for anyone else.

Jongin didn't want to deny the fact that he may have a tiny crush on the student council, in fact, he itted it to himself long ago when Kyungsoo brought a bag of ice after a heated fight between him and another classmate. He thought that the shorter male was nothing but sweet and considerate and he let his feelings control him. Of course, that was kept a secret from Kyungsoo since he didn't want to lose him by a silly confession - to Jongin, Kyungsoo was his only friend and the first person he has ever developed feelings for.

Kyungsoo looked around the classroom to catch Jongin's eyes looking over his way. He threw a smile towards the taller male and Jongin nodded at him as if he was greeting him. Kyungsoo then turned his attention back to Junmyeon and Jongin looked away too, happy with getting a smile from the only person he didn't hate in that miserable classroom.

Soon the teacher came in the classroom and got on with the lesson. Jongin was half listening and half daydreaming, wishing that it was already lunch so he can go to and have a cigarette. There was this classroom that no one has been using for years so Jongin often came here to smoke and listen to music - something that helped him calm his nerves since some people didn't know how to stay away from him.

After a dreadful lesson of confusing maths, the sound of the bell made Jongin quickly pack his things and leave without making any eye with anyone but that obviously would be difficult if a certain someone named Oh Sehun just had to come in his way.

"What's wrong, Jongin? What are we moody about today, sweetheart?" - Jongin could hear the smirk in his voice and he had the urge to push him away from his face.

"Move out of my way." - Jongin ordered in a low voice and Sehun just chuckled darkly at him. Jongin rolled his eyes at Sehun's pathetic  attempt to seem intimidating, nearly even let out a sarcastic laugh but he knew how to keep his straight face.

"And what would you do? Beat me like you beat that innocent man in that cafe yesterday? You are only proving to everyone that you are nothing but a cruel piece of shit!" - Jongin's brown eyes widened a bit by Sehun's sentence.  He suddenly got irritated from what Sehun said so he grabbed him by the collar, coming dangerously close to him. Sehun's cocky expression changed into a slightly petrifying one.

"Listen here, you brat, don't talk to me if you don't know the whole story and don't point fingers at me for doi-"

"Jongin!" - That's it. That's all it took for the agitated male to calm down. Kyungsoo's calming yet warning voice made Jongin let go of Sehun's collar slowly and turn around to look over at a slightly worried and tense Kyungsoo. His dark eyes softened once he saw the short male. Suddenly, he felt ashamed for acting so violently and disappointing Kyungsoo by breaking the small promise they made.

Promise me you will stay calm and won't fight anymore.

He couldn't stand it, the looks and whispers made Jongin even more mad and he wanted to yell. He wanted to let out his feelings instead of bottling them inside but he had no other choice. Jongin then decided that the best thing to do in this situation was leave.

Kyungsoo came closer to Sehun to tell him off for what he said but Sehun put his hand up, stopping him from saying a word. Kyungsoo then sighed heavily and ran after Jongin, something he usually does. He knew exactly where the tanned male was so he quietly left the classroom, half jogging towards the classroom at the very end of the school.

As he expected, Jongin was sitting down one of the many tables in the unused classroom and he exhaled a huge cloud of harmful smoke. Jongin didn't look up to see who it was on the door since he knew who it would be, instead he just looked down in shame.

"Jongin...are you okay?" - Kyungsoo whispered as he walked towards the melancholy boy. Jongin kept his head low as usual but he felt Kyungsoo's warm fingertips gently lift his head up. Jongin's breath hitched as he lost himself in his eyes, letting his tense body calm down.

"I'm f-fine." - Jongin stuttered, something that wasn't usual for the carefree teenager. Kyungsoo didn't believe him since his eyes screamed sadness and anger so he carefully embraced him in a hug.

"Jongin, you don't have to pretend. Look, you can trust me and I know you are having it rough but please don't let Sehuh's words get to you. You are not cruel, you just react differently and that is not such a bad thing."  - Kyungsoo spoke softly as he felt Jongin's arms wrapped around his waist, completing the hug. His heartbeat increased as he felt the male's arms on his waist and Jongin could feel the rapid beat against his chest. He smiled a little to himself.

"Thanks for being here for me, Kyungsoo." - Jongin pulled away from the hug as he gave Kyungsoo a reassuring smile as if telling him that he was okay now. Kyungsoo then cupped Jongin's face in his small hands and gave him a small kiss on the cheek. Jongin's smile grew wider and he now had a fast beating heart, just like Kyungsoo's.

"I'm glad I could make you smile." - Kyungsoo nodded slightly at him. He looked over at Jongin's hand that was holding the cigarette and gave Jongin a pointed look.

"Yah, what did I tell you about this?" - The shorter male pointed towards the toxic stick and Jongin sighed slightly.

"I promise I stopped...I just really needed it." - Jongin looked down once again and Kyungsoo smiled, understanding that it takes time and patience to get over something that you are practically addicted to.

"It's okay, Jongin, soon enough you wouldn't need to rely on them for help." - Kyungsoo assured with a confident voice. Jongin furrowed his eyebrows, tilting his head a little.

"Oh? Then what would I rely on?" - Jongin questioned.

And with all the courage Kyungsoo had, he decided to say something that made Jongin fall for him even harder.

"You should rely on me because I wouldn't allow anyone else to upset you."

hello everyone! before i start, i know i don't usually rant at the end of my ffs/one shots but i felt like doing this just once because it has been worrying me lately.

based on this one shot, i wanted to say a few things. people don't listen to one another and they just decide to point fingers and accuse each other for doing horrible things before giving a chance for the person to explain themselves. i know this is a kaisoo one shot but baekhyun is somehow involved in this since people have been accusing him for making fun of autistic kids when he really didn't. antis just wanted to get the chance to bring baekhyun down and that upsets me a lot when he clearly didn't make fun of autistic kids. how can he make fun of them when he went helped a charity event related to autistic kids? antis just really want to bring down baekhyun and they always aim to make him upset and put him as the bad guy when clearly, he isn't.

i know this wouldn't make much of a difference but please don't point fingers and spread rumours when you don't know the whole story. you will just be as bad as those antis if you do those things without considering the person's feelings.

i'm sorry this had to end like this but i was very upset to hear and read about this and i wanted to share my thoughts. i hope each and everyone single one of you have an amazing day ahead!🖤
