So...during the last week literally every Exo-L I encountered talked about how this comeback is about Exo and Eris only. Everyone is glad that there won't be the pressure and disappointment for the big awards. That it's just about enjoying their music.
But when I woke up today...this app was mayhem. Because of one RUMOR (which I cannot emphasize enough) everyone is like "stream this, vote here, we need Exo to win everywhere" again~
I feel like most Eris are quick to blame SM for every little shit. Like, I don't like them just as much as I don't like most Kpop agencies. But I don't blindly accuse them for immature reasons.
They gave us one hell of a fricking good album which Exo didn't write and produce, your so called SM nemesis did. Exo hinted often enough that we will finally get another reality show where they can show their RELAXED sides. They just published the seasonal greetings (oh my god these are so gorgeous). We have no idea what is still to come. They already announced the repackage, maybe there will be some kind of winter album, we don't know. Sehun and Baekhyun just appeared on one of the most popular TV shows and did eight gaming broadcasts before that. I don't understand how that counts as "SM letting everyone forget Exo". We won't forget Exo and even with the "late" comeback we cannot really complain because we got so much great (individual) content this year.
There is talk that Marz will leave SM. So what? That doesn't mean that he is tired of SM hanging him on his nails and torturing him endlessly. It can just be as personal a decision as a business decision. Maybe he wants to move, maybe he wants to marry, maybe he is expecting kids, maybe he wants to produce other kinds of music, maybe he just got a better offer elsewhere. Stuff like that happens all the time in the adult world and it is childish to assume that every of SM's actions and decisions is connected to Exo.
I know it hurts a lot to think about it but some will leave soon for their military service. And Xiumin even said as much that he wants some great memories with Exo and Eris before he leaves. So I really cannot understand why so many fans concentrate their energy on hating on SM, hating on other groups, worrying and pressuring other people about streaming and voting instead of just enjoying every second we can share with Exo nowadays.
In concerns of voting and stuff: This great blog talks about it very calmly and in my opinion this ideal is what we should focus on.
I just hope you won't ruin your own enthusiasm for Exo and Exo's music by jumping on every rumor-train and consider Exo's feelings as well. Because: What did they all say over and over again the minute they came back? That they want to be with Eris, that winning of any kind is not important to them.
And I would also like for more fans to be aware that no matter how capitalistic and unfair SM may be, they are the ones that gave us Exo in the first place, that produced those great albums I personally love to hear and analyze, they...are NOT some kind of demon senate in red cloaks that debate about Exo's future while sitting in a circle in a dark room. There are executives, directors, managers and staff like in any company and most of them make their money because of Exo and Eris...So why should they ever be interested in boycotting Exo while they still make them the most money? There is no "them" in SM, no red force that plans to bring down Exo.
And for all we know, it could have been Exo themselves who asked not to be as present in promo shows. Maybe they are just tired and don't want to attend the award shows (for which these promo shows are also for), so they don't care...We simply don't know. And I am getting tired of every little rumor that doesn't even have a back bone to be blown up into these enormous proportions. Eris are smart. Try to rationally think about news you read before starting whatever vendetta this is right now~
And (I cannot say this enough, really) KEEP ON LOVING EXO. That's the most important, the only important thing really. I read one blog just now where the author said "fanarts and blogs aren't important right now, go stream and vote"... and I thought to myself that this isn't right. I draw a lot of fanarts and I do that to show my love for Exo, to share it with other Eris that can see my love for Exo through these pictures. The have several fanarts framed and stuff...isn't showing our love in whatever way we feel appropriate the important thing? If that means voting for you, then that's alright, but please don't push those beliefs onto me. I will keep drawing while listening to their music, afterwards watching their shows or concerts, leaving a nice comment on their social media...and watch "Tempo" a few hundred times (not because of streaming goals but because I absolutely love the MV and music and cannot get enough of it).
So...this was one really long ranting-blog...I don't think I can write small things anymore hah~
I am sorry if some people feel offended by what I said. You can comment your point of view and I will gladly talk about everything. I just had to get this off my chest because these posts I saw today made my mood very bad. Still, I love you guys :heart:

I personally think those who are going nuts about all this are newbies and immatures they just get so rattled up with every little thing out there and just don't know how to deal with it they same way we older ones do. It's understandable but not acceptable most times and even though I too want them too win everything they can cuz they deserve it for their hard work and would love to see them more on variety shows if it means they won't get enough sleep, enough rest, and personal space then I rather have them sleep for a whole year so they can just be themselves and not worry so much about all this shit just to please us Eris.
They need time for themselves too and if that means we won't see them as often as we like then so be it. And since they are also preparing to leave to the military and its obvious they want to spend as much time with us, but they really need to prepare mentally, physically and emotionally so they really don't need us on their back 24/7 365 telling them what to do. And SM is SM they will continue to do what they do and we really can't do much about besides whatever they are doing with EXO or all others they are doing something right if not they wouldn't be at the top... so kids need to stop their shit, do their homework and sleep.
And saying that streaming and voting is more important than fan art and all that is bullshit and disrespect in my opinion, like there are so many way to show them love and and I'm sure they rather have us doing that than stream all day. They know they can win. we know they can win they have proved it time and time again so there is no reason to go nuts about it. I haven't voted or really streamed all these 6 years til now (mostly cuz I had no access to it) but it didn't affect them in any wrong way did it? No, so if theres a few ppl who don't do it it's not really gonna do much harm so calm the fuck down. And I think I lost my point already so ima end it here this is already too long so I apologize for that.

Exactly :) Thank you for adding tour thoughts on this matter. I totally agree that most of the people freaking out about every little rumor are probably younger and more inexperienced fans.
I just wish for the future that we could all live and love together in harmony and peace. That's probably naive and utopian but I really hope for a fandom like that :heart:

I've been a fan of exo since they were 12 . When I look back to those days, there were so many hardships that exo and exo-l had been through. And I find myself become stronger and loyal.
Though I know I won't ever forget them, you're one of the reasons I become stronger.

Personally, i don't even bother reading the whole drama and shit about the issues rising. Everyone got fired up way too quickly and because of rumors. And your blog enlighted the issue for me since i didn't look throught it or even read anything about more than the surface. Those kinds of things piss me off to the core and i am just so sick of everything so i isolate myself from it and just stay in my happy comeback bubble.
Because as you said, i don't care what the fans expect of SM or EXO. They give us what they want and what they can. And we never know what happens behind closed doors. So we are only making guesses without having any proof. This is sickening to me. I do have my own thoughts about the promotion things, but i just left it at that without digging deeper because in the end i don't care: EXO dropped a masterpiece and i don't give a shit about the rest. Everyone can freak out and do what they want; i'll listen to their album and do my own thing.
