PL ≻ The language of Flowers 𑁍 ≺

For many people, flowers are primarily

something aesthetic. That's right,

flowers are beautiful to look at

and the bright colors and

soothing scents make

you happy!

But every

single flower has a

very specific meaning,

as many of you already know

from e.g. red roses, the sign of love.

That's why flowers are very great gifts!

My motivator for this blog was Chen.

After the current PL theme was

decided, he was the first one

that came to my mind.

I've always loved

the pictures of Chen's album

Dear my dear, in which the beautiful

Gerbera in particular has a bigger role.

Gerbera has a very positive symbolism.

This flower means friendship and

joie de vivre (my PL motto, by

the way). It also stands for

honesty and respect.

But in my opinion,

the most irable thing

about Gerbera is the message:

"You make everything more beautiful!"

I thought for a long time about how I

could get this flower into a blog

along with Chen. I was very

motivated, but I lacked

any creativity.

Then, I saw a

picture of self-painted

cloth napkins by chance and

I knew I wanted to make that! It was

time to use my ancient sewing machine!

During the process, I ed that

there was a Japanese EXO interview

with Chen, with the same motto

"the language of Flowers"!

Why did I only think of

that now?

In the EXO-L

Japan fanclub magazine

interview, Chen says that while

writing songs, he felt that his life

was overlapped with the flowers' life.

What he says means something like:

we bloom and we wither. We are

human beings and will have

happy times, and times

that aren't happy.

I knew that this

interview had to become

the basis of my blog, and I

totally fell in love with this one

picture of beautiful Chen and Gerbera!

So I made a Chen/Gerbera cloth napkin.

First, I sewed a square cloth from a

neutral cotton fabric. Then I took

several Gerbera pictures as

inspiration and drew the

flower with pencil on

the fabric.

After that,

I drew Chen in the

middle (as good as my

skills allowed) and finally

used yellow, red and black textile

markers for painting. Pure white Chen

is in the middle to overlap with the flower.

I had a relaxing time while painting

and both are at least a bit similar,

that reassures me.
