A Bollywood Mess - KAISOO Challenge

(You know, the day between their birthdays! This was fate :yellow_heart: )

To celebrate Kyungsoo's and Jongin's birthday I'm participating on the Kaisoo Movie Challenge!

I decided to create my own movie plot since I had an idea stuck in my mind for a while now, and I've always thought it would be really cool if someone were to make a movie like this.

Please keep in mind that this is my first time writing a story and that English isn't my first language. :bow:

I really like Bollywood movies so I decided to make a movie plot inspired by Bollywood!

It's a comedy! And it doesn't mean to offend anyone btw! I really love Indian culture please don't think I'm mocking it or disrespecting it.

My favorite part of Bollywood movies is the dances and songs :smile: I think about how it would be in real life if someone suddenly started dancing and singing and everyone just followed along perfectly. But what if one of the characters couldn't dance (like me lol)! They would ruin the entire show! That's where my inspiration for the plot came :joy:

Synopsis

Kyungsoo is a normal guy, he goes to work, he lives alone and has a calm and happy life. One day his best friend Baekhyun has an arranged marriage with Jongin a handsome rich guy chosen by baekhyun's parents that is sure to give him an happy, stable life. But Baekhyun is in love with his childhood friend, Chanyeol. Chanyeol is poor and is not approved by Baekhyun's parents!

The story begins when Kyungsoo is invited to the marriage. Baekhyun begins singing to his friends about his dilemma but unfortunately once Kyungsoo tries to the dance and sing about his advice to his friend he ruins the dance by moving to the left when everyone moved to the right, successfully landing his fist on baekhyun's face... Now that's not going to look good on the wedding.

That's where Kyungsoo's adventure of trying to dance without ruining the flow of the story begins! Will he be able to successfully finish a dance number without being noticed in the crowd? Will anyone find the heart to love someone who always ruins the mood during a romantic song?

The Characters

Kyungsoo

A regular guy that just can’t dance no matter how hard he tries. He dreams that one day he can fit in and dance like all the “figurants”. He doesn’t want any unnecessary attention on him, especially not everyone being mad at him for ruining the complex dances that are so common in everyday life. He gave up on love from a very early age because he would ruin any romantic dance that typically comes with falling in love.

Baekhyun

He is Kyungsoo’s best friend. He knows about Kyungsoo’s situation but still s him and tries to cover up the mistakes he does during dance numbers. He believes that Kyungsoo will be able to find his place in society even if his dancing is a bit “different” from others. Baekhyun is the typical lead of a love story, he finds himself in the middle of a love triangle created by his parents that won’t accept that their son is in love with someone poor. Will he give up the love of his life to please his parents?

Chanyeol

Baekhyun’s childhood friend, son of the gardener that works on Baekhyun’s house. They met when they were little because Chanyeol accompanied his father to his workplace. They soon became friends despite their different backgrounds. Chanyeol loves Baekhyun and is heartbroken by the news of his arranged marriage. He wants what his best for his friend and he knows that he will never be able to give him the life he deserves, still he can’t stay away and must judge for himself if this Jongin guy is really the right match for his precious Baekhyun.

Jongin

Jongin works for his parent’s company and is very successful at what he does, one day he will succeed the company and he is being pressured by his parents to find a partner as soon as possible. Jongin doesn’t like the idea of getting married with someone he doesn’t know but hates the idea of losing his heritage even more! Will this young man succeed on his search for a partner?

Minseok and Jongdae

Baekhyun’s parents, all their life they made sacrifices so their child would have everything he needs. They want Baekhyun to marry someone who will take care of him so they can rest assured that their baby is safe. Although they have good intentions they fail to notice that their baby has grown up and doesn’t need to be taken care of.

The Story

Kyungsoo arrives at Baekhyun’s big family mansion. And once again he is surprised by how big everything is. He drives through the huge garden and parks in front of the house where Baekhyun is already waiting for him. Preparations are being made for the wedding between Baekhyun and the rich business man.

Baekhyun is happy to see Kyungsoo after so long but Kyungsoo can see in his eyes how hurt his friend is about the situation. They walk inside the mansion to get to Baekhyun’s room but on the way, they are blocked by different workers asking Baekhyun questions about the wedding preparations. “Hyung master! Blue flowers or purple?” “Mr. Byun! Gold or silver center pieces?” Baekhyun randomly replies to the questions and grabs Kyungsoo to run to the safety of his room. But once inside they find servants waiting to dress Baekhyun in his wedding attire so they can make the last changes to it.

That's when Baekhyun starts singing about how dreadful this wedding is while the servants dance and sing along for the reasons why this is the best match possible for Baekhyun. Kyungsoo tries to lay low but Baekhyun stops and looks at him with hopeful eyes waiting for Kyungsoo to the dance and sing him some advice. Not wanting to let down his friend that is always kind enough to give him chances like this, Kyungsoo takes a big breath and tries to mimic the dance moves the servants were making while singing for Baekhyun to cheer up because even if he gets married with Jongin he will always have Kyungsoo by his side. Baekhyun finally smiles and s the song but the moment everyone turns right while raising their arm to the side, Kyungsoo turns left… unfortunately Baekhyun was right beside him and suffers a punch to the nose. Baekhyun falls to the ground in pain and Kyungsoo falls beside him begging for forgiveness.

The servants leave while rolling their eyes because they are familiar with Kyungsoo and this always happens! The young master just had to befriend the only guy in India that can’t dance! And not only is he terrible at it he is also a danger to society! Always hurting himself or others during the complex dance numbers that are part of everyone’s day to day life. Baekhyun laughs at Kyungsoo and comforts him with a hug, bless his golden heart. Baekhyun is really the only person who accepts Kyungsoo’s lack of talent and still gives him chances to be a part of his dance numbers. Everyone else avoids dancing when Kyungsoo is around, and by association they avoid Kyungsoo. They talk about Baekhyun’s dilemma and Baekhyun confesses to Kyungsoo that he is in love with Chanyeol. Kyungsoo asks him why not marry Chanyeol then, but Baekhyun loves his parents and respects their wishes so he vowed to do what they want for him even if he loses the love of his life. Kyungsoo comforts his friend and offers to help him get through this marriage, he will never leave his friend's side.

Chanyeol is heartbroken, and has been since he found out about the news. He can’t compete with this Jongin guy, what can a humble gardener like himself provide for Baekhyun? He only has his heart to offer. Still even if he can’t be the one he won’t just offer his precious Baekhyun to some random guy! No matter how rich the guy his! He must see for himself if this Jongin guy is deserving of Baekhyun. Even though he thinks no one is deserving of his angel.

With that thought in mind Chanyeol searches the mansion for the guest room where the mysterious groom is staying. He talks with the other servants and finally finds the room. He knocks without a plan. No one answers. Now Chanyeol could take this as a sign that maybe is better to think of what he is going to say before he talks with the guy… but thinking is not really an option right now! Baekhyun is in danger! He knocks more urgently but still no answer. He runs outside and finds the window belonging to the room. “If the guy is out right now I’ll just wait for him in his room!”. He climbs the wall, thankfully there was a tree next to the window to help, he knocks over the table that was next to the window making a lot of noise and that’s when he sees Jongin sleeping peacefully in his bed “How deep is his sleep!?”.

Chanyeol gets closer to Jongin examining his face “Dammit he is handsome! Baekhyun goes crazy over handsome guys!!!”. Chanyeol opens all the drawers and cabinets he can find looking for proof that Jongin is a bad guy, so that he can show Baekhyun and the wedding will be called off. When he finds a pink book titled: “My babies” with a scribbled winky face. “This is it! This guy is a pervert! I knew it!!!” he opens the book and inside are picture of cute puppies with Jongin’s scribbled notes next to them… “DAMMIT!!! BAEKHYUN LOVES PUPPIES!!!!!” Chanyeol screams pitifully and he was almost beginning to cry when Jongin suddenly wakes up.

Jongin was surprised to find a stranger in his room holding his precious book. They have a heated discussion where words like “Why are you stealing my Baekie away!?” and “Give back my book you weirdo!!!!” are thrown around until Jongin realizes Chanyeol’s purpose for coming to his room. Being the competitive person he is, Jongin starts taunting Chanyeol about Baekhyun and a dance number begins where Jongin sings about why he is superior to Chanyeol in manliness and Chanyeol sings about why no one deserves Baekhyun. This ends with each one going to his side, proclaimed enemies.

After a very tense wedding rehearsal and dinner, Kyungsoo is in the garden iring the huge water fountain. During the dinner Baekhyun’s fiancé kept staring at him! What the hell is his problem? Kyungsoo has to it the guy is very handsome, and the way he smirked when Kyungsoo went to Baekhyun’s side during the rehearsal… he shouldn’t be having this thoughts about his best friend’s fiancé!

Kyungsoo was so deep in thought that he didn’t notice Jongin approaching.

Kyungsoo is startled by his appearance. Oh no! Now he is alone in a romantic place with a handsome guy… “please don’t start singing! Please don’t start singing!” he prays… but Jongin starts singing… Jongin sings about how he doesn’t want to get married but it’s his obligation as the heir, while Kyungsoo tries to avoid getting pushed into the dance with him. Jongin tries to hold Kyungsoo’s hand and Kyungsoo folds his arms and begins looking for a way out of this. Jongin doesn’t give up and successfully holds Kyungsoo’s hand and begins to spin him, it’s very embarrassing to watch but Jongin just chuckles at Kyungsoo’s rigid state and avoids getting stepped on with his quick foot work. Kyungsoo must be dreaming! He is actually dancing along (kinda) without ruining this! He is sure anyone watching wouldn’t think that this was a romantic dance but still he smiles at Jongin and let’s himself be led by him.

Jongin is really a great dancer! He can look so graceful while dodging Kyungsoo’s attacks! He begins to sing about how funny and adorable Kyungsoo is with his silly (and dangerous) way of dancing. Kyungsoo then begins to sing about his problems and how it’s the first time he was able to sing like this during a dance number. Jongin is blown away by his voice. They finish the song by looking in each other’s eyes and begin to slowly get closer to each other, their noses almost touching… when Kyungsoo’s cellphone rings! Kyungsoo quickly runs away to answer, Baekhyun is looking for him! He goes to his friend feeling guilty about what happened.

Chanyeol is putting the gardening utensils away when he runs into Jongin. That’s it! He will make this guy understand that Baekhyun is too good for him this time! But then he notices that Jongin looks sad… even though he hates Jongin he can’t be mean to him while he is making that face… “Damn my good heart!!!” He goes to Jongin and asks him what his wrong and Jongin tells him, through song of course, how he met the most wonderful guy today but he can’t call off the marriage with Baekhyun because of his parents. Chanyeol gives him a hug and then punches him in the stomach and leaves while screaming: “JUST CALL OFF THE WEDDING YOU BIG BABY!!!”.

It’s the day of the wedding! Everyone is present! And everyone looks really gloomy except Baekhyun’s parents, Jongdae and Minseok, they couldn’t be happier that their baby is going to get married to such a respectable young man that will take care of him when they are gone.

Everyone is singing and dancing Baekhyun surrounded by beautifully dressed girls and Jongin by guys equally well dressed guys. Kyungsoo decided to stay behind the crowd this time in order not to ruin Baekhyun’s dance number, if he was in Baekhyun’s sight his friend would push him into dancing along. And also, he can’t face Jongin after what happened that night.

Chanyeol was invited to the wedding by Baekhyun, but he is faced with a dilemma, would he be able to watch the wedding and smile at his friend? Should he not go and risk Baekhyun being upset with him because of it? Can he really watch Baekhyun marry a man that doesn’t love him or that Baekhyun doesn’t love either? He knows how Baekhyun has always dreamed of marring someone for love… That’s it! Chanyeol will go to the wedding and he will stop it! If not for himself then for Baekhyun.

Chanyeol dramatically enters the wedding and the dance number stops when all faces look at him, including Baekhyun. He then begins singing about how Baekhyun shouldn’t marry Jongin because they don’t love each other. Baekhyun s the song challenging Chanyeol, asking about who should he marry then. Everyone dances along and Jongin finds Kyungsoo hiding in the crowd. He grins “This time you won’t escape.” He grabs Kyungsoo and pushes him into the big dance number and sings about how he doesn’t want to get married because he already found someone he loves. Everyone stops and move away when they spot Kyungsoo getting dragged into the dance. Baekhyun smiles at Kyungsoo and encourages him to dance. Kyungsoo stays frozen too afraid to mess it up. So Jongin takes his hand and restarts the previous dance number dragging Kyungsoo around like that night. Kyungsoo smiles and sings about how Baekhyun should marry the one he loves. Everyone s the dance and the party begins! Jongdae and Minseok and tell their son that if this is what he wants then they will him and that he should have told them about his feelings. Jongin then sings that he will not marry Baekhyun for the sake of being the company’s heir because he found something that will make him even happier, loving Kyungsoo, and Kyungsoo thanks Jongin for helping him being a part of the dance, even though he still can’t dance well, he can dance along with everyone. And he confesses his love for Jongin and that they should always be together.

Baekhyun and Chanyeol ended up getting married that day and Kyungsoo and Jongin also got married a few months after.

And they all danced happily ever after.
