Holly O’Hair is a student at Ever After High. She is the daughter of Rapunzel and her Prince Charming from “Rapunzel”, and she is the next Rapunzel, destined to be a princess with extremely long hair who is kidnapped to a tower and ultimately rescued by her prince. She is a Royal and wants her destiny. However, even though everyone thinks Holly is the older twin, it is revealed that she is the younger one, and she and Poppy’s birth certificates were mixed up. After spending so many years at home school, Holly is finally ready to step out of the tower and into her storybook destiny! Being a daughter of Rapunzel, she is already used to letting others use her hair for tower escapes, and she seems happy to help. She enjoys reading and often tells her sister Poppy stories. Because of this, she is regarded as smart. This is a pastime she will rely heavily on in her own fairy tale. Holly is a Royal enthusiast, and she is preppy. She is a little nervous about staying in a tower for years since she’s afraid of heights and is worried how she will keep sane during all those years, but still wants her destiny and is proud of it. Holly doesn’t have a mean bone in her body, but will come to her sister’s defense if need be.

Holly O'Hair's not about to wait around in a tower & miss the Dragon Games. When she needs a hero, she becomes one.

Appearance

Holly has very long auburn hair that looks one hundred feet long and reaches past her knees with a braid on the side, that flows to the ground. People often trip over her hair, especially when she flips it, and sometimes the other cheerhexers get entangled in it. She sometimes tries different hairstyles such as putting her thick, long hair up in dozens of braids and hung in loops so it wouldn’t drag on the ground, but usually her sister Poppy is the one who tries different hairstyles. Her hair has to be cut and styled every day or it gets royally out of control. Once, when mice were set loose in the Castleteria as a prank, mice climbed her long braided auburn tresses to nibble the berries that crowned her head. Holly’s mom runs Rapunzel’s Tower Hair Salon in the Village of Book End, so it’s no wonder her hexquisite tresses always look as radiant as spun gold. Holly’s and Poppy’s hair grows about twenty feet a day. Most days include some sort of hair incident—someone tripping on her tresses, or sitting on them, or being momentarily blinded by them during a wind gust.

“I'm Holly, the next Rapunzel. I'm new here. And you're... the next Red Riding Hood! So do you hate Mr. Badwolf?”

In addition, she has peach skin, light green eyes, and natural pink lips. She has a kind smile. Holly's choice of attire is quaint yet charming - she enjoys braiding her hair or styling it in an up-do and embellishing her accessories with hollies, hence her name. With her outfits, Holly usually wears pastel colors with gold. Holly tends to wear soft colors and classic styles. She also wears a tiara.

Each Legacy Day participant would wear their heirloom out, the clothes that his or her fairytale parent had made famous. Holly wore her mother’s heirloom dress, and Poppy threaded her sister’s hair with ribbons and flowers.

Interests

Holly fancies reading in the library, as she knows that she will be doing much of it alone when she becomes the next Rapunzel. She also likes to read outside while in the company of her sister.

But, along with reading, she indulges in writing as well. She created a blog called Fairytale Fangirl. Every month, she took a well-known fairytale and gave it the Holly O’Hair twist—meaning she changed an element or two, thus turning it into a brand-new story. She has written hundreds of stories, and narrowed it down to her favorite twelve that she published through literary agent Edith Broomswood as a collection called Tower Tales by Holly O’Hair. Writing is her favorite thing ever after. Be it writing stories or fan fiction about her friends, Holly claims that imagination is a princess's best friend. She started the school newspaper.

She and Poppy’s great grandfather, Great-Grandpa O’Hair, lived to be one hundred and seventeen years, and though his red locks had turned silver, they were still as thick as a horse’s mane on the day he took his last breath.

“Researching fashion. I never thought about fashion when I was homeschooled, but so many people at Ever After High are interested in it, so I thought I’d add a fashion column to the school newspaper I’m starting. Since I already interviewed all the tower fairytale characters for Yester Day, I’m using the rest of my time talking to experts in fashionable and edgy clothing designs. I thought Emperor Buff’s tailors would be good, since they made the most famous clothes in all of fairytales.”

Holly often relies on the help of Blondie Lockes to ensure that she's not locked behind any doors.

She’s friends with all the princesses, and she especially looks up to Apple. Like two peas in a pod, or two peas under a mattress, Apple and Holly are very much of the same frame of mind when it came to their royal duties.

When she was the new princess at school, she didn’t know the unwritten rules of the Castleteria that royals sit together, and first sat with Cerise Hood.

She’s also on good and ive with the other cheerhexers.

“Of course! Rule three in our Princessology hextbook says a princess is always helpful. But rule fourteen says a princess must be dignified at all times. Do you think using my hair as a rope is dignified?”

Sparrow Hood had a secret crush on Holly, but she doesn’t feel the same way, and kindly suggested that the two of them just be friends. She ires his creativeness.

“Oh good. It’ll take me a few minutes to

braid a strand, and then I’ll cut it out.”
