Raven Would Not Become Apple’s Stepmom: Explaining

Once Upon A Hi, Fairytales! Naomi Love here. This blog is a brief explanation on why Raven would not become Apple’s stepmom even if she follow her destiny as the next Evil Queen and their story had played out.

So obviously, we all know the most popular version of the tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The Evil Queen is a jealous and vengeful stepmother. But surprisingly, this is never mentioned or talked about at all in Ever After High…

…Except for once! When Apple and Raven are going on a quest together and bonding and becoming friends for the first time, they start talking about it. I really don’t know why or how this didn’t occur to either of them before, since their stories have been drilled into them for the past sixteen years, but anyway.

Raven realizes that her role as the Evil Queen includes a crazy urge to kill Snow White, her fair stepdaughter and wonders if she would become Apple’s stepmom.

In Apple and Raven’s parent’s stories, the Evil Queen was Snow White’s stepmom, but that’s not fathomable for the next retelling. It will work out because each generation’s story must be a little different than the last. After all, Apple was going to be a blond Snow White, even though the story specifically says that Snow White has “hair like ebony”. All the characters just had to trust that the story will work out in the end.
