In our community’s [Guidelines], Guideline 4 is “Stay on topic”. We do elaborate in the Guidelines, “This community is dedicated to Ever After High. Posting anything that's not related to EAH isn't allowed. Obviously posting about your Ever After High OCs is encouraged. Stay on topic in our chats too. With the exception of a few chats like the community chat and the OC help chat, all our chats are a part of our open world role play system, and are for role playing only, not casual conversation. In our community chat you can have conversations about anything you want!”
However, there has been some confusion lately, so this post is expanding on Off Topic blogs.
You might ask yourself, what does the mod team mean by off topic?
For the most part it’s self explanatory. We are a community about Ever After High. All content here is related to that topic, and anything not related to Ever After High is considered off-topic.
So writing about how it’s Mickey Mouse’s birthday is unfortunately off-topic. As is a post talking about different types of pizza toppings, or a post about your favorite song with all the lyrics, regardless of if you think a character would sing it. (Yes this includes Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and Lady Gaga.) All three of these might be good posts but unfortunately they are not related Ever After High, and will therefore be disabled for being off-topic.
"Um, Naomi," I can hear some of you say, "Raven Queen’s favorite singer is Taylor Swift, so how is a Taylor Swift song off topic?”
4A. How one word won't change this
Adding one or two Ever After High facts or words to an off topic post doesn't automatically make it on topic again.
What counts is the main message of the post. If you post a blog where the content is the lyrics of a song but add "I think Hunter Huntsman would sing this” at the beginning, the main message is still the random song lyrics. And no matter how much our dear Raven loves Taylor Swift, just the fact that she is a Swiftie doesn't make a post about Taylor’s new song or new tour on topic.
Now, if you were to make a post about the many different references to Taylor Swift in the Ever After High universe, that would be on topic! But just tacking an Ever After High character or tidbit onto a post that is mainly NOT about Evef After High is still off-topic.
Thanks for reading. The end!
