So I’ve been loaning minty for 4 months and he used to know tricks so when he’s back in the field full time I’m going to teach him a few basic tricks or work on up but I don’t know which to do first

up and then tricks. Doing up first will help u get a stronger bond with him/her
They are tied and but I’ve decided not to do up but to teach him to follow as up can confuse the horse and involves getting them to run round and this sometimes scares him as he doesn’t like whips or anything like that and he runs round really panicked so I think positive reinforcement and teaching him to follow but thanks for the advice
I wouldn’t do the traditional up first. If you want to teach a follow trick that’s always a great first trick but the up where they run a horse around and then try to get it to follow them has always seemed counter productive to me and I don’t recommend it.
