Tex is a ed Quarter Horse/Thoroughbred. His dads side is extremely fit, stocky, athletic and durable coming from a long line of barrel racing. Tex’s moms side is very athletic, adaptable and speedy coming from a very well known line of race horses, including Secretariat!

Texas is a very tall, lean yet muscular horse with a huge stride and massive strength. He’s quite the typical gelding with his attitude, he’s submissive and kind but can be very strong willed when it comes to his job. Tex acts his age definitely, he’s young enough to still get hot while competing but mature enough to be an all around honest genuine boy. Tex is quite tall compared to his pasture buddy’s! His height tends to help him with barrel racing, as he’s able to wrap barrels within two strides and keep himself squared, balanced and quick. He has a clean, shiny and thin coat he takes good care of!

Texas was bred with Joseph Gary and was later sold to William Slater, who competed with Texas on all Gymkhana events. Texas was tossed around until he eventually ended up in Quebec, Canada. Hot 2 Trot stables found him from there and bought him with intentions to flip him back to us! It worked!

Texas has only been running barrels after a few years off since March 2023. He’s a quick, versatile competitor with a lot of try and give. He’s quite the horse that’s for sure. He’s insanely good with competing because of his bloodlines, current shape and mindset. The reason I no longer compete with him on gymkhana is because he’s my main barrel horse and I have a main gymkhana horse I use for that!

Texas has quite the personality. He has some odd habits and some that are cute, but overall he’s not a bad boy especially with riding! He picked up most of his habits before I even met him!
