Personality

Mocha is an absolute gem who is am so lucky and fortunate to have. She is so sweet and quiet. Hardly anything spooks her and she is just so sensible and calm. Mocha definitely has had a great start in life and it seems like no one has abused her or anything like that. She is very well behaved and has great manners. I honestly wouldn't even mind having a confident beginner on her! That's how much I trust and am confident in her.

Even though she is very young, only 4 years old at the moment, she is unbelievably behaved. She doesn't care about loud noises and is such a sweetheart. Sometimes she can be a bit pushy, but if you give her a reminder every now and then, she listens right away.

Mocha is surprisingly a very lazy horse. She takes a lot of leg to get her going and will just wait for the cue to slow down lol. Even on the lunge she takes some encouragement to get going. Mocha can be spicy on the lunge and throw some big bucks, but under saddle she never does things like that. Her canter is also to die for! It's soo smooth like omg. Her stride is beautiful. Mocha is still a bit green under saddle (to be expected obviously) and can struggle to balance herself at times. However, I'm working to help teach her get comfortable and using herself correctly.

Overall, Mocha is such an incredible horse. Her temperament is to die for and it will take her far. I am so very lucky to have such a wonderful horse since I bought her at an auction! I had never seen her before in my life and just bid on her by seeing her in the ring for a few minutes. It was so scary but incredible at the same time! I am so so blessed to have this lovely mare :heart: .

Mocha's likes and dislikes?

First off, Mocha loves to eat lmao. She is a veryyy food orientated horse and will eat 24/7 haha. Also something interesting to note was Mocha had no idea what a carrot was! When I first loaded her into the trailer when I bought her from the auction, I offered her a carrot. But Mocha didn't seem to eat it or know what to do with it. At home she still didn't know, so I have the carrot to my other horse Lily so she could watch her eat it. I did this two other times and then Mocha eventually took the carrot! From then on, she absolutely loved them. I just don't think she was hand fed at her old home.

Mocha loves chill days where I just groom her and spend time with her on the ground. I take her over tarps and teach her to leg yield. I also sometimes just spend a session tacking up where I move the saddle pad everywhere, drop things, jump around, etc. She is literally boomproof haha.

Mocha absolutely loves hacks. When I take her out to a new area around our 100 acre property she is hypeddd. She power walks and pricks her ears the whole way. Mocha never really spooks which is great and I love feeling her stretch out and have a nice loose walk.

Now for some dislikes. Mocha hates going fast lmaoo. She prefers to just walk and not put much effort into anything haha. I think her dream job would be being a trail horse lol. When you do get her going though she is an absolute dream.

Mocha also seems to hate dogs lol. Whenever my dog comes down to the barn and he's near her pen, she just pins her ears flat down haha. However she doesn't charge him or anything so we all good. I do have to chase him away sometimes lmao.

I honestly don't know what else Mocha dislikes since she's so chill lol. She really doesn't mind much at all.

Appearance

Mocha has that typical thoroughbred build. She's slim and rather dainty. She also struggles to put on a lot of weight compared to my other horse Lily. Her hooves are also smaller than Lily's which is interesting. Her coat used to be rather dull but I have been brushing her everyday and am giving her a coat supplement, so now her coat is looking 10x better!

Mocha has a beautiful thick mane and tail which are dark black. Her forelock is more thinner and has streaks of light brown in it which is pretty cool. She has no markings but that's fine haha. Her eyes are small, round and are a dark brown. Mocha's face is also a slightlyy lighter brown than her body. Mocha has pretty good conformation which I am very happy with. She is also barefoot and will likely stay that way unless there is a reason she needs shoes.

Mocha overall is quite a stunning horse. She also has kind of big ears lmao but it just makes her cuter. She also just has the kindest face and I just want to squish her little nose when I see her lol.

Conclusion

Mocha is the best horse I could ever ask for. She is an absolute dream especially since she is so young! Mocha is definitely going to go far in her life and I am hoping to set her up for success in her future home. She is just the horse I need and is the perfect about of calm and sassy. Mocha is just such a bean and I can't get enough of her. I hope to train her to the best of my ability because she deserves the world and more. I love ya Mocs :heart: . And I'm glad that you and Lily get along :raised_hands: .
