we just vanished-

        

Honestly... We just left 'cause we were bored... oops, lol. But that same boredom brought us back! Before we left we had already found out that we had DID, but didn't really want to express ourselves as plural in this community yet. In our time away we've really worked on our fear of letting people know we are plural, and now we are living our best life as a system!

▸ ⁞ ❏. In our time away we have improved a lot as equestrians! We also graduated high school and are now studying the equine sector at the best school (for that) in our country!

▸ ⁞ ❏. Pat had some major health issues that caused him to lose a lot of weight, but he is on the way to a full recovery! He is on an extensive feeding schedule, hehe.

▸ ⁞ ❏. Pat is also doing much better with socialising! He is no longer so scared to be touched and is actually quite friendly now.

▸ ⁞ ❏. Soleil lost a lot of weight! She used to be a lil'... thicc... but now she's at a healthier weight!

▸ ⁞ ❏. Other than that I'm sad to report we've not made major leaps of progress or had any major events that are horse related. We've been working a lot on ourselves and our mental health and have actually improved drastically!

We got rid of almost all our posts cause they reminded us of a time that we were not as happy as we are now! Also, some of them had bad English, or were just downright cringy... yikes. Like seriously? Poetry? C'mon.

1. Tell us about yourself!

Hi! We're the M system! We're a DID system of around nine alters! But the only two people in our system you'll see posting here are Aoi (he/they) and Ri (he/it/they). We own two horses, Soleil and Pardoes!

2. What's your current riding situation?

We do eventing at a local pony club with Pat, and ride tackless dressage at home with Soleil! We also ride at our school's equestrian training centre! We're also a stable hand at a five-star dressage stable!

3. Have you had any experience with horses?

We have around a decade of experience with riding, owning and caring for horses! Now we are also studying it!

4. What discipline do you do?

We do eventing and tackless mainly! But we do almost everything English every now and again, and have our own methods! We also do horsemanship exercises a lot! Our favourite discipline to do will forever be dressage, though!! (๑>◡<๑)

5. What brought you into this Amino?

Can't say we !! We were in it before!

6. What's your favourite horse breed?

Ri's favourite breeds are Holsteiners, Irish draught horses, and I think Kladrubers too!

Mine is the Noriker!!

7. Who's your equestrian idol?

I don't think we necessarily really have one! Though of course we really look up to all the world class dressage riders. I personally really look up to Ri, he's really talented!!

8. What is one goal you have as an equestrian?

I think at some point we'd love to expand what we are doing now (rescuing horses from mildly distressing situations that we can actually work with) into a business one day!

9. Favourite horse movie or book?

Ri loves the Silver Brumby books from his childhood. Other than that we don't have a horse-centric favourite film, but Dances With Wolves is a personal favourite of ours and it has a lot of horses in it!!

10. What is one thing you wish you could do with a horse but have never done?

I would love to go on a beach ride at some point, but Ri is scared of the ocean Σ(-᷅_-᷄๑)

11. If you could rename or name your own horse, what would it be?

Some of our favourite horse names are Willow, Komorebi, Ukiyo, Carmelo, and Pebble! Mouse is cute too~

12. Did you ever own a model horse?

We had an alter when we were younger that collected Schleich! We still have some!!

13. Where's your dream place to ride at?

For now it would be super cool to ride at the place we're a stable hand at!!

14. Why are you ionate about horses?

Horses have always meant a lot to us because they drastically improve our mental health!! They've saved our life time and time again and we love them for it! That, and they're so intelligent and funny!

15. Anything else that you think everyone should know?

We have PTSD and amnesia, they're symptoms of DID. Please respect that and our triggers! We can't help it~

DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) is a dissociative trauma disorder that causes a person to have 'multiple personalities'. These 'personalities' (usually called alters) are their own people with their own looks, tastes, opinions, genders, ages, etc! People with DID always also have PTSD or C-PTSD and may suffer from amnesia.

We run an instagram that's pretty popular in the DID community: the_m_system!! It has lots of informational posts about DID if you're curious!

You may have seen some words in our post that have confused you, so here they are explained:

▸ ⁞ ❏. Alter: alternate state of identity in the brain! A 'personality' in a DID system.

▸ ⁞ ❏. System: a group of alters in one brain and body.

▸ ⁞ ❏. Plural: another term for someone that has DID.

▸ ⁞ ❏. Amnesia: memory loss! Can be full or partial!

Things we get asked a lot:

▸ ⁞ ❏. Is it like Split (movie)?

No. It's not like Split, at all! We are not dangerous and we are not monsters!

▸ ⁞ ❏. How can alters be so different?

Alters tend to be around for very long periods of time and thus get the chance to develop as their own person!

▸ ⁞ ❏. I totally have DID too, I act so different around my colleagues and family! I'm totally crazy.

No, you don't :). DID is a very real and very debilitating disorder! What you do is normal and human! Everyone masks and acts different around people they have different relationships with!

▸ ⁞ ❏. Is it rare?

About as rare as people with red hair! (Literally)
