Weirdest And Craziest Show Ever

So you guys wanted a show blog well here it is! Now this show was the weirdest and craziest show I have ever been in. Here’s why...

Let’s Start With Show Prep Last Night!

Benji was perfectly fine in both lessons and for show prep. We got his mane and forelock all nice and braided. We gave him a full on bath and he felt like a teddy bear.

Now To Early This Morning.

I got to the barn at around six in the morning because we were leaving the barn at 6:30 and Benji is known to roll with his braids in and mess them up. So thankfully they weren’t to messy so we got him fixed up in time. Then we put on his adorable penguin shipping boots and took him outside to graze while we waited to load him into the trailer. By “we” I mean me and the person I was sharing him with and her twin sister. We got him on the trailer and we hopped into our coaches truck and we were off to the show!

At The Show Before Classes

So we arrived and it was a mad dash to groom, tack and get into the warm up ring. I actually warmed up second as I was sharing Benji and I let the other person warm up first. Benji was SOOO good during warm up and I was pumped and energized for the rest of the day. I did have spurs on but that was only because he is sometimes very lazy and needs extra aids. I am against them but I have to listen to my coach. We saw some adorable and gorgeous horses and ponies and more on that later.

Waiting For Classes

So not much really happened during this time. I mounted Benji fixed my stirrups and started walking around in a circle to get him awake. Then my friend who I haven’t seen in a while came so that was great because she also rides and she’s really good so she was very helpful!

Classes In A Strange Way

Here comes the fun and weird part of the show. As you guys already know he was perfectly fine in warm up but then this somehow happened. When I got into the ring to start my course/first class he was DEAD lame. Everyone outside of the ring realized and I noticed also and so I got called out of the ring. I quickly got switched onto Munchkin who I hadn’t ridden in at least six months. Then somehow we got two firsts, one third, and a grand champion. It was very hectic but exciting. I knew that I had to listen to my coach and get on Munchkin if I wanted to show today! So I’ve now found myself a show pony!

Updates And Other Things

When I left the barn after the show Benji was still super lame and even lame at the walk. We think he probably pulled something or got a cramp from standing around a lot as he is getting kind of old.

We saw this AMAZING woman riding three four year old ottb mares who were SOOO green. They were all BEAUTIFUL horses but sadly I didn’t get pictures of them. The first one I saw was a gorgeous dapple grey. She was rearing and everything and the woman kept riding her forward.

So that was my day! I will give you an update on Benji next time I go to the barn which will be Friday!
